Time is going really quickly right now! I was hoping that January would slow down a bit, but no, it is just not happening! So many things on my desk...!
Anyway I wanted to talk a little about this project. I had some comments, saying things like: "You are completely crazy to do this!" 
I actually I do not think so. Let me explain: the projects are really small, mostly. And I am enjoying to be creative. I feel good when I do things and enjoy experimenting and see the results I am getting. Unfortunately I often feel I need to do other things first and end up not being creative at all at some days. After a while I feel really bad, because I have not taken the time for this very important outlet for me. Not a good situation!

But since I started the 365 project, I know I will do something each day, even if it is just a small thing. And that gives me so much good energy and the more I do, the more ideas I get. It is like a positive spiral going up, instead of going down! Every morning I wake up and now I will do some fun creative project on this day How cool is that? ;-)

You might say: "365 days in a row is a lot! And what if miss one day?" Well I did not say it is always easy! Especially when things get hectic (which is very often) or when I do not feel well. Unfortunately that also happens. The only way to deal with that, is to do an even smaller project, something really tiny (like the earrings wires! It only took me 10 minutes altogether) and to plan a bit ahead when you know there will be busy times ( like the weekends or when I need to travel) also helps a lot.

I am selecting creative projects I can take with me or that only needs very little material. The black and white doodle is something like that: only one piece of card stock and one white pen!. I do not have to finish things, if it does not go how I want it. The art journaling page is something like that. The first part was not really that great, but after adding the second part (at another day!) I liked it much more. And that is another thing: there will be days when I make something, that I actually do not like. But that is okay. No need to stress out about it. There is always another day...;-))

So all in all: yes it is a commitment, and yes it takes time to do it, but the reward is great! And that in itself is enough reason for me to keep going! And as with all things: the more you practice the better you get at it. That is definitely also true for this project!

the longest day....

Yesterday was the longest day of the year and I really had a long day!! I got up at 6am (not exactly my time!) and had to get ready to drive with all my polymer clay tools and a biiiig box full of modells, I had prepared the last week(s). I had a photo shooting day for my new book! I was kind of nervous, because that was a first time for me! And driving on one of my most dreaded Autobahns did not make it better either. The way to the photographer could have been a littleless stressfull, but I expected that any way!
But when I got there, everything was just perfect: great studio, wonderful photographer and we worked together like a charm! It is so great to have pictures taken by a pro, nothing like it! The day just went by very busy, but also with lots of insights on my part. I was fearing it would take well into the evening, but surprise surprise, we where done with everything at 5pm and after a much more relaxed hours drive I was home again. I cant wait to see all the photos, when they are printed and I just know they will be very good!

Gestern was der längste Tag im Jahr und ich hatte wirklich einen langen Tag! Ich mußte schon um 6 aufstehen (nicht wirklich meine bevorzugte Zeit!) und mußte mich fertig machen mit allen meinen Polymer Clay Werkzeugen und viiiiielen Modellen, die ich in den letzten Wochen angefertigt habe, los zu fahren. ich hatte einen Fotostudio Tag für mein neues Buch!!! Ich war schon ein bisschen nervös, den ich hab das zum ersten Mal gemacht! Und das ich dazu auf meiner am meisten gehassten Autobahn fahren mußte, hat es natürlich auch nicht besser gemacht. Der Weg zum Fotografen hätte etwas weniger stressig sein können, aber damit hatte ich ja schon gerechnet!
Aber als ich dann dort war, lief alles wie am Schnürchen: super Studio, wunderbarer Fotograf und wir haben ausgezeichnet zusammen arbeiten können! Es ist wirklich unbezahlbar, Bilder von einem Profi gemacht zu bekommen, da geht nichts drüber! Der Tag ist wie im Flug vergangen, aber auch mit sehr viel Arbeit, und mit einigen tollen Einsichten ( von mir). I hatte befürchtet, dass wir bis spät in den Abend brauchen würden, aber Überraschung! wir waren schon um 17 Uhr fertig, und nach einer Stunde viel entspannteren Rückfahrt war ich wieder zu Hause. ich kann es kaum erwarten die Fotos gedruckt zu sehen und ich bin mir sicher sie werden super sein!

Today I made my earrings for the 52 earrings challenge and the theme was "the half", because we are half through with the challenge now. At first I had a bit of trouble finding inspiration for this theme ( the lack of time did not really help either!) but when the spark hit me to do something with ying-yang everything came together really easy.

Heute habe ich meine Ohrringe für die "52 earring" challenge gemacht und da war das Theme "die Hälfte", denn wir sind schon halb durch mit den 52 Wochen! Anfänglich hatte ich ein bisschen Schwierigkeiten, den richtigen Einstieg zu finden ( und die mangelnde zeit war auch nicht hilfreich), aber als ich dann die Idee mit dem Ying-Yang hatte, passte eigentlich alles schnell zusammen.

.....I am back!!!

You must have wondered what ever happend to me and my blog, right? Well, moving from one place to another really took a lot of my time. But there was another thing, too: I am writing a new book!!!! And this time it is much bigger than any of my earlier books. And the timing is.... well let´s just say: there would have been a better time for writting, than in the middle of moving! But what really freaked me out, was that the telephone commany was not able to install our phone and internet connection in the new home...for 6 weeks!!! Yes, that´s what I said: 6 very long weeks!!! This week we finally got back online and I can tell you I am so happy about it! The moving is mostly done, I am still writing my book, but the deadline is just around the corner and there is new exiting things coming my way....;-))
I will not give everything away today, but one of them, I will tell you: this year I am taking part in Lori´s Bead Soup Block Party!!! I am really exited about it, since I was planning to do that for a long time already...;-))

Ihr habt Euch sicher schon gewundert was mit mir und meinen Blog los ist, nicht war? Naja, der Umzug hat mich doch ziemlich in Beschlag genommen! Aber das ist noch nicht alles! Ich schreibe wieder eine Buch!!! Und dieses wird um einiges umfangreicher, als meine vorherigen Bücher! Und die Zeiteinteilung ist ... naja, wie soll ich sagen: es gibt sicherlich bessere Zeiten ein Buch zu schreiben, als mitten in einem Umzug, soviel ist klar! Aber was mich wirklich völlig fertig gemacht hat, war das uns unser Telekom-Anbieter in der neuen Wohnung das Telefon und Internet nicht anschließen konnte/wollte ... und zwar genau 6 Wochen lang!!! Ihr habt schon richtig gelesen: 6 endlos lange Wochen!!! Diese Woche haben wir jetzt endlich unseren Anschluß bekommen und ich kann Euch gar nicht sagen, wie froh ich darüber bin!
Der Umzug ist im großen und ganzen über die Bühne, ich sitze immer noch an meinem Buch, aber die Abgabe ist nicht mehr lange hin und es gibt eine Menge neuer aufregender Dinge, die auf mich zu kommen! Ich werde Euch heute noch nicht alles verraten, aber eine Sache schon: dieses Jahr nehmen ich an Loris Bead Soup Block Party teil. Ich hatte das schon lange verfolgt und diese Jahr mache ich selber mit....;-))

52 earrings - week 10

... wohhh, time is flying fast over here!!! I am working on our new place and some secret project, that unexpectetly poped up. No, I can not tell what it is right now, wish I could...
Week #10 is over and here are my earrings of the week. This week I made two sets, a "Sunday" and a "Monday" set, like one for special ocations and one for normal days...;-))

....oh Hilfe, die Zeit rast gerade wieder wie wahnsinnig!! Ich bin mit unserer neuen Wohnung beschäftigt und einem geheimen Projekt, das plötzlich aufgetaucht ist. Leider kann ich noch nichts darüber sagen, jetzt jedenfalls noch nicht...
Woche #10 ist vorbei und hier sind meine Ohrringe. Diesmal hab ich zwei Sets gemachte, ein "Sonntags" und ein "Montagsset", also eins für besondere Anlässe und eins für jeden Tag....

The group has made stunning pieces again and I just love to see them all together!!! In week #11 we have a theme ("Spring") and I can´t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
Die Gruppe hat wieder wunderbare Ohrringe gemacht und ich liebe es sie alle zusammen zu sehen!!! In der 11. Woche haben wir ein Motto ( "Frühling") und ich bin schon ganz gespannt, was alle machen werden!!

52 earrings - week 6 and a Happy Valentine to you!!!

These are my earrings for week #6: they are made of polymer clay (Mokume Gane), sanded and polished to a high sheen, silver wire in Jetson technique curling around the beads. I really like how they have turned out, a bit spacy...;-))
Hier sind meine Ohrringe für die 6. Woche: Polymer Clay Perlen (Mokume Gane), hochglanz geschliffen und poliert, Silberdraht dreht sich eine Jetson Spirale um die Perlen. Mir gefällt es ganz gut, wie sie so geworden sind, so ein bisschen ausserirdisch...;-))

These are the groups mosaices again and I must say it is amazing what everyone comes up with and that the group is STILL growing!!
Hier sind wieder die Arbeiten von der ganzen Gruppe und ich muß sagen es ist echt unglaublich was so alles jede Woche gemacht wird. Und das die Gruppe immer noch größer wird!!!

Today it is Valentine´s Day!!! We don´t really do that day in our family, because February is jam packed with birthdays in our family anyway and we hardly get all those packed in, so another holiday would be just to much for us. BUT I still wish you all that you will recieve and spread as much LOVE as possible!!! And I would be more than happy, if you choose to spread some love in the comment section of my blog. It is a really neglected place and my mailbox would be so happy to get some notes from YOU!!! And BTW: don´t you worry about which language to write in: if you write something, I will be able to read it, there are translations programms around, you know...;-))
Heute ist Valentinstag!! Wir feiern dieses Fest nicht wirklich in unserer Familie, da der Februar sowieso schon mehr als reichlich mit Geburtstagen bestückt ist und wir kaum hinterher kommen diese alle zu feiern, haben wir uns entschlossen nicht noch einen Feiertag rein zu quetschen. ABER trotzdem möchte ich EUCH natürlich wünschen, das Ihr alle viel LIEBE empfangen und verteilen dürft. Und ich wäre mehr als glücklich, wenn Ihr Euch dazu aufraffen könntet ab und zu mal einen lieben Kommentar auf meinem Blog zu hinterlassen. Den das ist wirklich eine sehr vernachlässtigte Abteilung hier in Anart Island und mein Briefkasten würde jubeln wenn er mir mal ab und zu was von DIR präsentieren könnte!!! Und wenn wir schon grade dabei sind: macht Euch bitte keinen Kopf darüber in welcher Sprache ihr schreiben könnt: wenn Ihr was schreibt, kann ich das auch lesen, im Notfall mit so kleinen Programmen, die für mich übersetzen...;-))

It´s official: We are moving again!

This has been on my mind for the last couple of weeks, and now we finally got the  new contract. So now it is offical: we are moving! Same town, different address. I am kind of looking forward to it, actually. The place we live in now is nice, but there are some things that have turned out to be not as good as planed. And all that will change with the move! Very good! But we will have to downsize quite a bit, AND my studio will have to be strunken, too. That, and the fact of reorganizing everything once again, is something I am not looking forward to! That was definitly not the way I planed my spring cleaning this year! So I guess I will be very busy the next (hopefully only!) two month. So please bear with me, when I am not writing as much as usual!

Da ist was, was mir die letzten paar Wochen dauernd durch den Kopf gegangen ist, und jetzt haben wir endlich den neuen Vertrag bekommen. Und daher ist es jetzt endlich sicher: wir werden wieder umziehen! Gleiche Stadt, aber andere Adresse! Da wo wir jetzt wohnen ist die Wohnung wirklich schön, aber einige andere Dinge haben sich als nicht so geschickt herausgestellt. Und all das wird sich mit dem Umzug ändern! Echt super! Aber wir werden einiges verkleinern müssen, UND vor allem mein Studio wird schrumpfen müssen! Das und die Tatsache, das alles neu organisiert werden muss, ist etwas, auf das ich mich nicht freue! Das ist definitiv nicht so wie ich mir unseren Frühjahrsputz vorgestell hatte! In den nächsten zwei (hoffentlich nur!) Monaten werde ich sicher sehr beschäftigt sein. Ich hoffe ihr werdet es mir verzeihen, wenn ich dann nicht ganz so oft, wie sonst auf dem Blog schreiben werde!

52 earrings - January earrings

So happy about the earrings I made in January!! And not only did I stick to my challenge, but I also inspired a lot of people to join in the challenge and take part. It is really overwhelming!!! And my secret plan to get more creative did work out with this challenge: I got a lot more done and I am happy with my results! Yeah for that!
Ich bin wirklich glücklich mit den Ohrringen, die ich im Januar gemacht habe. Und, nicht nur das ich meinen Plan eingehalten habe, ich habe auch noch eine ganze Menge Leute dazu inspiriert sich mir anzuschließen und mit zu machen! Es war zum Teil schon unglaublich!!! Und meine geheimer Plan, kreativer zu sein ist mit diesem Anreiz auf jeden Fall auf gegangen: ich habe sehr viel mehr fertig bekommen und ich bin glücklich mit meinen Ergebnissen. Da klopf ich mir doch direkt mal selbst auf die Schulter...;-))

.... well, that is what I think! And to prove me right, I found out, I am featured on polymerclaydaily today!!! This certainly made my day! And it is a wonderful revard for deciding to actually do the "52 earrings" challenge....;-))

Freitag, der 13. ist ein Glückstag! Glaube ich zumindest! Und, wie um zu beweisen, das ich recht habe, bin ich just heute auf polymerclaydaily zu finden! Das hat meinen Tag auf jeden Fall zu etwas was ganz besonderem gemacht! Und es ist eine super Belohnung dafür, das ich mich dazu entschlossen habe die "52 Ohrringe" Herausforderung an zu nehmen!

Merry Holidays !!!

.... I could do with some more light and some bright snow right now! Unfortunatelly the weather is still warm and we have only very short spells of sunshine... most of the times it´s gray and raining! I can´t wait for the Solstice and looks forward to meet up with my family and celebrate! This has been a year filled with lots of things, good and bad, and it has been a challenge. Now is the time to get some rest and tank some new energy again. I will take a brake from blogging (well started with it already, to be honest!) and only post when I really feal like it. On the 21st I will also close the shop. Since I do not know now, if I will post the next couple of days, I want to wish you all wonderful, happy and peacefull holidays, no matter which ones you are celebrating. Have great times with your friends and familys and see you in the New Year....Take care!
...ich könnte gerade schon ein bisschen mehr Licht und hellen glitzernden Schnee gebrauchen! Aber leider ist das Wetter immer noch zu warm und wir haben nur ganz kurz mal ein bisschen Sonne... die meiste Zeit ist es grau und regnet ohne Ende! Ich kanns kaum abwarten, bis die Sonnwende endlich da ist und ich freue mich schon auf die Treffen und Feiern mit meiner Familie. Dieses Jahr war randvoll gepackt mit Ereignissen, guten wie schlechten, und es war wirklich eine Herausforderung. Jetzt kommt die Zeit um sich mal zurück zulehnen und auch ein bisschen zu besinnen und neue Energie zu tanken. Ich werde eine Blogpause einlegen (wenn mans genau nimmt, hab ich letzte Woche schon damit angefangen!) und nur wenn es mir wirklich danach ist bloggen. Am 21. werde ich dann auch den Shop schließen. Da ich nicht genau weiß, ob ich in den nächsten Tagen bloggen werde, möchte ich Euch schon jetzt wunderbare, fröhliche und friedliche Feiertage wünschen, welche auch immer ihr feiern werdet. Habt eine großartige Zeit mit Euren Freunden und Familien und ich freu mich Euch im Neuen Jahr wieder zu sehen ... passt gut auf Euch auf!!

FrenchToast Breakfast Muffins - vegan version

Today I want to share a recipe with you!!! I think most of you know by now that I am a real foodie...;-)) One of my favourite sources for ideas (not just food, many things!) is pinterest. It is just unbelivabe how many wonderful things are to be found there! Of course many of the recipes are mouth watering, but they are not vegetartian or even vegan. So I have to do a lot of adjusting, but I do not mind that at all. I love to experiment! So if I find something nice, I check if it is do-able for me and then I change it according to my preferences...;-))

Heute möchte ich mal wieder ein Rezept mit Euch teilen!!! Ich denke die meisten haben schon mitbekommen das ich sehr gerne koche und backe...;-)) Eine meiner momentanen Lieblingsquellen für neue Ideen ist Pinterest, nicht nur für Essen sondern für alles mögliche. Es ist schier unglaublich, was man da alles finden kann. Viele der Rezepte dort lassen einen sofort das Wasser im Mund zusammen laufen, aber sie sind of nicht vegan oder vegetarisch. Darum muß ich dann doch einiges ändern und anpassen, aber das finde ich nicht weiter tragisch, nein es macht mir sogar Spaß. Denn ich liebe es herum zu experimentieren! Also wenn ich etwas Tolles finde, versuche ich heraus zu finden, ob das machbar ist und dann passe es dann an meinen Vorlieben an...;-))

 

This is how I found the French Toast Breakfast Muffin Recipe by Velvet Lava Café .... they just looked so delicious! And are surprisingly simple to make. You can find the original version via the link above and here is my vegan version of it:

To make 12 muffins you will need:

2/3 cup vegan margarine ( it should work with vegetable oil, too, but I have not tried that up to now) melted

1 cup raw  brown sugar

3 cups flour ( I used 550er weat flour)

1/2 cup (120 g) mashed banana

3 tsp baking powder

1 tsp sea salt

1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

1 cup soymilk

for the topping:

1/2 cup raw brown sugar

1/2 cup vegan margarine, melted

2tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350F/180C

Mix all the dry incredience in a large bowl. In a second bowl, mash the bananas, add melted margarine and soy milk. Stir well. Add wet ingredience to dry ingredience and mix until combined, but dont over mix! Fill the dough in your muffin tin (I have one made of sillicon, so I do not use liners!) and bake for 25 minutes until they are just turning brown.

Let them cool down a bit, take out of the tin and dripple some of the melted margarine on top of your muffins. Finally sprinkle them with the cinnamon suger mix. And Enjoy!

Genauso hab ich auch das Rezept für French Toast Breakfast Muffins von Velvet Lava Cafè gefunden ... die sahen einfach zu gut aus! Und sind trotzden super einfach zu machen! Das Orginalrezept findet ihr bei dem oberen Link, und hier kommt meine vegane Version des Rezepts:

Um 12 Muffin zu backen brauchst Du:

150 gr geschmolzene vegane Margarine ( es sollte auch mit Pflanzenöl funktionieren, das hab ich aber noch nicht ausprobiert!)

225 gr Rohrohrzucker

360 gr Weizenmehl ( Ich hab 550er genommen)

120 g Bananen

3 teel Backpulver

1 teel Meersalz

1/2 teel gemahlene Muskatnuß

230 ml Sojamilch

Für die Verziehrung:

115 gr Rohrohrzucker

115 gr geschmolzene vegane Margarine

2 teel Zimt

Ofen auf 180°C vorheizen.

In einer Schüßel alle trockenen Zutaten mischen. In einer zweiten Schüßel die Bananen zu einem gleichmässigen Brei zerdrücken. Margarine und Sojamilch dazu geben und gut umrühren. Die feuchten Zutaten zu den trockenen Zutaten geben und mischen, aber nicht mehr als notwendig verrühren! Den Teig in ein Muffinblech füllen (ich hab eins aus Silikon, darum nehme ich nicht immer Papierförmchen!) und ca. 25 min backen, bis sie leicht an den Rändern braun werden. Kurz abkühlen lassen, aus der Form nehmen und mit der geschmolzenen Margarine beträufeln und mit der Zucker/ Zimt Mischung bestreuen! Guten Appetit!

...musical weekend!

Yes, it was! Such much to do and see in December! On Friday we went to my daughter´s school´s Christmas Concert. They do this every year and, since it is a school with a special music program, the concerts are very ambitious! I am always amazed to I see so many kids and teens with their instruments or in the choir, and think of how many hours they must have practiced to be that good, to do such an outstanding concert! I am always in total awe! The light in the church was not very bright, so I only have few pictures, that are worth showing...;-))
Ein musikalisches Wochenende, in der Tat! Es gibt immer sooo viel zu tun und zu sehen im Dezember! Am Freitag war das Weihnachtskonzert von der Schule meiner Tochter. Da die Schule einen musikbetonten Zeig hat, sind die Konzerte immer ganz schön anspruchsvoll!! Ich bin immer völlig von den Socken, wenn ich mir überlege, wieviele Stunden Übungszeit in das Meistern der Instrumente und der Stimme geflossen sein müssen, damit die Kinder und Jugendlichen so gut geworden sind und solche tolle Konzerte darbieten können. Schier unglaublich! Das Licht in der Kirche war nicht so besonders, daher habe ich auch nur wenige Fotos, die man überhaupt vorzeigen kann...;-))

On Saturday I was at the TKK #8 handmade market and it was awesome. I still need to edit the pictures, so I will show them to you sometime later this week...;-)) And Sunday was my day of much needed rest!
Am Samstag war ich beim TKK #8 Markt und es war supertoll! Ich muß noch die Bilder bearbeiten, aber ich werde Euch später in der Woche welche zeigen...;-)) Und Sonntag war mein Erholungstag. Denn hab ich auch echt gebraucht!

I am already looking forward to next year! Some impressions from Sunday for you to have a look at: it was so cosy crafting Adventscalendars, eating cookies and cakes and ready books to each other...;-)) Wonderful and relaxing....!!
