Since Frankfurt is very close to where I live, going to the Paperworld Fair in Frankfurt has become a dear ritual to me. Each year in January it is a good chance to meet some old friend, make some new ones and have a look at new things and trends at the show. I met with Donna Kato and my friends from polyclaykunst on Friday night for dinner and we had a blast!!! ( Did you expect anything else? ;-)) And the food was great, too!!!

Da ich ja doch relativ nahe bei Frankfurt wohne, ist der jährliche Besuch auf der Paperworld schon eine liebgewordene Gewohnheit für mich geworden. Es ist immer eine gut Chance alte Freunde zu treffen, einige neue Freundschaften zu schliessen und sich über neue Trends und Artikel auf der Messe zu informieren. Am Freitag Abend hab ich mich mit Donna Kato und meinen Freundinnen von polyclaykunst getroffen und es war erwartungsgemäss sehr lustig!!! Und das Essen war auch total super!!!

On Saturday was the day to hit the show and talk talk talk...;-)) I was really please I had a chance to meet Iris Mishly and chat a bit with her. We have known each other online for quite a while, but never met in person. She is such a sweet person and a wonderful clay artist!
Am Samstag war dann Messetag für mich und natürlich reden, reden und reden....,-)) I habe mich sehr gefreut endlich Iris Mishly zu treffen und mich ein bisschen mit ihr zu unterhalten. Wir haben schon eine ganze Weile online Kontakt gehabt, aber das war das erste persönliche Treffen. Sie ist so eine nette Person und eine wunderbare Polymer Clay Künstlerin!

The day went by really fast and I was quite tiered in the evening!!! Spent a long evening with my in-Laws and on Sunday we went home again ( I had taken my daughter with me).
Der Tag ist schnell vorbei gerast und ich war ziemlich erledigt am Abend. Und dann hab ich noch die halbe Nacht mit meiner Verwandschaft verquatscht. Sonntag sind wir dann wieder zusammen nach Hause gefahren (ich hatte meine Tochter mitgenommen).
I am sure, I will be there next year, too.
Auf ein neues im nächsten Jahr...;-))

52 earrings - January earrings

So happy about the earrings I made in January!! And not only did I stick to my challenge, but I also inspired a lot of people to join in the challenge and take part. It is really overwhelming!!! And my secret plan to get more creative did work out with this challenge: I got a lot more done and I am happy with my results! Yeah for that!
Ich bin wirklich glücklich mit den Ohrringen, die ich im Januar gemacht habe. Und, nicht nur das ich meinen Plan eingehalten habe, ich habe auch noch eine ganze Menge Leute dazu inspiriert sich mir anzuschließen und mit zu machen! Es war zum Teil schon unglaublich!!! Und meine geheimer Plan, kreativer zu sein ist mit diesem Anreiz auf jeden Fall auf gegangen: ich habe sehr viel mehr fertig bekommen und ich bin glücklich mit meinen Ergebnissen. Da klopf ich mir doch direkt mal selbst auf die Schulter...;-))

Freitag, der 13. ist ein Glückstag! Glaube ich zumindest! Und, wie um zu beweisen, das ich recht habe, bin ich just heute auf polymerclaydaily zu finden! Das hat meinen Tag auf jeden Fall zu etwas was ganz besonderem gemacht! Und es ist eine super Belohnung dafür, das ich mich dazu entschlossen habe die "52 Ohrringe" Herausforderung an zu nehmen!

...after a long series of holidays it´s time to come back to a normal routine again. But I do not want to start the new year without some good wishes for your new year! I wish you the best year of all!

This time I could not wait for the new year to start! 2011 was challenging for me and my family to say the least. And I love new beginings, new fresh calendars and newly opened pages, new books at the begining of a new school term...I just love it! But this time I just could NOT wait for the new year to start! I already made a lot of plans and I want to adjust some of my routines to improve them. I think there will be a lots of surprises this year ahead!
...nach einer langen Serie von Feiertagen wir es nun langsam Zeit wieder zu einer normalen Routine zu kommen! Aber natürlich möchte ich das neue Jahr nicht beginnen ohne Dir ein gutes neues Jahr zu wünschen: ich wünsche Dir das beste Jahr überhaupt!!!
Diesmal konnte ich es wirklich kaum abwarten das neue Jahr zu beginnen! 2011 war ein sehr forderndes Jahr für mich und meine Familie um das mal vorsichtig aus zu drücken. Und ich liebe neue Anfänge, frische Kalender und neu aufgeschlagene Seiten, neue Bücher am Anfang eines Schuljahres....ich liebe es einfach!!! Aber diesmal konnte ich es WIRKLICH kaum erwarten mit dem neuen Jahr zu beginnen! Ich habe natürlich auch schon haufenweise neuer Pläne gemacht und ich möchte auch einige meiner Arbeitsabläufe verändern und optimieren. Ich denke in diesem Jahr wird es einige Überraschungen geben!

One of my new projects is the "52 pairs of earrings a year" project. I have been trying to find a way to get my workflow more consistend and inspiring. Some time back I had tried a "365 project" ( taking on photo each day of the year) but I just could not make it work for me. So this year I am trying something different: I will make a pair of earrings each week. I hope this will be more workable for me and I am sure this will get my creative jucies flowing! I will not limit myself to one material, but there will be a fair share of polymer clay earrings, of course! I asked around who would like to join me in this challenge and opend a group on flickr. Its open to anyone, and you do not nesesserily have to be on the same weekly plan as I or anyone else. In the picture above you can see some of the earrings that where made during the first week by the group members. If you like come on over to join us!
Eins meiner neuen Projekte ist das "52 pairs of earrings a year" Projekt. Ich habe schon eine ganze Weile versucht meinen Arbeitsfluß konstanter und inspirierender zu gestalten. Vor einiger Zeit habe ich mal bei einem "365 Projekt" ( jeden Tag ein Photo machen, ein Jahr lang) mitgemacht, aber das hab ich nicht lang durchgehalten und damit bin ich nicht klar gekommen. Daher mache ich diese Jahr eine andere Variante: ich werde jede Woche in Paar Ohrringe machen. Ich denke das ist besser strukturiert für mich und ich bin mir sicher das wird meine Kreativität anheizen! Ich werde mich nicht auf ein Material beschränken, aber es wird schon ein guter Teil Polymer Clay Ohrringe dabei sein, natürlich! Ich habe schon einige Leute gefragt, wer gerne noch mitmachen möchte und habe dann eine Gruppe auf Flickr eröffnet. Jeder kann mitmachen, und es müßen auch nicht alle nach dem gleichen Wochenplan arbeiten. In den Bild oben könnt ihr sehen, was in der ersten Woche in der Gruppe gemacht wurde. Wenn Du Lust hast, kannst Du gerne noch mitmachen!

.... I could do with some more light and some bright snow right now! Unfortunatelly the weather is still warm and we have only very short spells of sunshine... most of the times it´s gray and raining! I can´t wait for the Solstice and looks forward to meet up with my family and celebrate! This has been a year filled with lots of things, good and bad, and it has been a challenge. Now is the time to get some rest and tank some new energy again. I will take a brake from blogging (well started with it already, to be honest!) and only post when I really feal like it. On the 21st I will also close the shop. Since I do not know now, if I will post the next couple of days, I want to wish you all wonderful, happy and peacefull holidays, no matter which ones you are celebrating. Have great times with your friends and familys and see you in the New Year....Take care!
...ich könnte gerade schon ein bisschen mehr Licht und hellen glitzernden Schnee gebrauchen! Aber leider ist das Wetter immer noch zu warm und wir haben nur ganz kurz mal ein bisschen Sonne... die meiste Zeit ist es grau und regnet ohne Ende! Ich kanns kaum abwarten, bis die Sonnwende endlich da ist und ich freue mich schon auf die Treffen und Feiern mit meiner Familie. Dieses Jahr war randvoll gepackt mit Ereignissen, guten wie schlechten, und es war wirklich eine Herausforderung. Jetzt kommt die Zeit um sich mal zurück zulehnen und auch ein bisschen zu besinnen und neue Energie zu tanken. Ich werde eine Blogpause einlegen (wenn mans genau nimmt, hab ich letzte Woche schon damit angefangen!) und nur wenn es mir wirklich danach ist bloggen. Am 21. werde ich dann auch den Shop schließen. Da ich nicht genau weiß, ob ich in den nächsten Tagen bloggen werde, möchte ich Euch schon jetzt wunderbare, fröhliche und friedliche Feiertage wünschen, welche auch immer ihr feiern werdet. Habt eine großartige Zeit mit Euren Freunden und Familien und ich freu mich Euch im Neuen Jahr wieder zu sehen ... passt gut auf Euch auf!!

FrenchToast Breakfast Muffins - vegan version

Today I want to share a recipe with you!!! I think most of you know by now that I am a real foodie...;-)) One of my favourite sources for ideas (not just food, many things!) is pinterest. It is just unbelivabe how many wonderful things are to be found there! Of course many of the recipes are mouth watering, but they are not vegetartian or even vegan. So I have to do a lot of adjusting, but I do not mind that at all. I love to experiment! So if I find something nice, I check if it is do-able for me and then I change it according to my preferences...;-))

Heute möchte ich mal wieder ein Rezept mit Euch teilen!!! Ich denke die meisten haben schon mitbekommen das ich sehr gerne koche und backe...;-)) Eine meiner momentanen Lieblingsquellen für neue Ideen ist Pinterest, nicht nur für Essen sondern für alles mögliche. Es ist schier unglaublich, was man da alles finden kann. Viele der Rezepte dort lassen einen sofort das Wasser im Mund zusammen laufen, aber sie sind of nicht vegan oder vegetarisch. Darum muß ich dann doch einiges ändern und anpassen, aber das finde ich nicht weiter tragisch, nein es macht mir sogar Spaß. Denn ich liebe es herum zu experimentieren! Also wenn ich etwas Tolles finde, versuche ich heraus zu finden, ob das machbar ist und dann passe es dann an meinen Vorlieben an...;-))

This is how I found the French Toast Breakfast Muffin Recipe by Velvet Lava Café .... they just looked so delicious! And are surprisingly simple to make. You can find the original version via the link above and here is my vegan version of it:

To make 12 muffins you will need:

2/3 cup vegan margarine ( it should work with vegetable oil, too, but I have not tried that up to now) melted

1 cup raw brown sugar

3 cups flour ( I used 550er weat flour)

1/2 cup (120 g) mashed banana

3 tsp baking powder

1 tsp sea salt

1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

1 cup soymilk

for the topping:

1/2 cup raw brown sugar

1/2 cup vegan margarine, melted

2tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350F/180C

Mix all the dry incredience in a large bowl. In a second bowl, mash the bananas, add melted margarine and soy milk. Stir well. Add wet ingredience to dry ingredience and mix until combined, but dont over mix! Fill the dough in your muffin tin (I have one made of sillicon, so I do not use liners!) and bake for 25 minutes until they are just turning brown.

Let them cool down a bit, take out of the tin and dripple some of the melted margarine on top of your muffins. Finally sprinkle them with the cinnamon suger mix. And Enjoy!

Genauso hab ich auch das Rezept für French Toast Breakfast Muffins von Velvet Lava Cafè gefunden ... die sahen einfach zu gut aus! Und sind trotzden super einfach zu machen! Das Orginalrezept findet ihr bei dem oberen Link, und hier kommt meine vegane Version des Rezepts:

Um 12 Muffin zu backen brauchst Du:

150 gr geschmolzene vegane Margarine ( es sollte auch mit Pflanzenöl funktionieren, das hab ich aber noch nicht ausprobiert!)

225 gr Rohrohrzucker

360 gr Weizenmehl ( Ich hab 550er genommen)

120 g Bananen

3 teel Backpulver

1 teel Meersalz

1/2 teel gemahlene Muskatnuß

230 ml Sojamilch

Für die Verziehrung:

115 gr Rohrohrzucker

115 gr geschmolzene vegane Margarine

2 teel Zimt

Ofen auf 180°C vorheizen.

In einer Schüßel alle trockenen Zutaten mischen. In einer zweiten Schüßel die Bananen zu einem gleichmässigen Brei zerdrücken. Margarine und Sojamilch dazu geben und gut umrühren. Die feuchten Zutaten zu den trockenen Zutaten geben und mischen, aber nicht mehr als notwendig verrühren! Den Teig in ein Muffinblech füllen (ich hab eins aus Silikon, darum nehme ich nicht immer Papierförmchen!) und ca. 25 min backen, bis sie leicht an den Rändern braun werden. Kurz abkühlen lassen, aus der Form nehmen und mit der geschmolzenen Margarine beträufeln und mit der Zucker/ Zimt Mischung bestreuen! Guten Appetit!

...musical weekend!

Yes, it was! Such much to do and see in December! On Friday we went to my daughter´s school´s Christmas Concert. They do this every year and, since it is a school with a special music program, the concerts are very ambitious! I am always amazed to I see so many kids and teens with their instruments or in the choir, and think of how many hours they must have practiced to be that good, to do such an outstanding concert! I am always in total awe! The light in the church was not very bright, so I only have few pictures, that are worth showing...;-))
Ein musikalisches Wochenende, in der Tat! Es gibt immer sooo viel zu tun und zu sehen im Dezember! Am Freitag war das Weihnachtskonzert von der Schule meiner Tochter. Da die Schule einen musikbetonten Zeig hat, sind die Konzerte immer ganz schön anspruchsvoll!! Ich bin immer völlig von den Socken, wenn ich mir überlege, wieviele Stunden Übungszeit in das Meistern der Instrumente und der Stimme geflossen sein müssen, damit die Kinder und Jugendlichen so gut geworden sind und solche tolle Konzerte darbieten können. Schier unglaublich! Das Licht in der Kirche war nicht so besonders, daher habe ich auch nur wenige Fotos, die man überhaupt vorzeigen kann...;-))

On Saturday I was at the TKK #8 handmade market and it was awesome. I still need to edit the pictures, so I will show them to you sometime later this week...;-)) And Sunday was my day of much needed rest!
Am Samstag war ich beim TKK #8 Markt und es war supertoll! Ich muß noch die Bilder bearbeiten, aber ich werde Euch später in der Woche welche zeigen...;-)) Und Sonntag war mein Erholungstag. Denn hab ich auch echt gebraucht!

I am always happy about attention, but hey isnt just about everyone??? I think so! Today and yesterday I got some more than normal, attention that is...and that makes me really happy. So I like to share it with you:
Ich bin immer glücklich über etwas Aufmerksamkeit, die mir zu Teil wird, aber mal ehrlich ich denke, ich bin da keine Ausnahme, nicht war??? Ich denke über sowas freut sich doch jeder ...;-)) Und heute möchte ich euchs einfach zeigen:

Yesterday I found a mail in my in box from Anna. She told me I was featured on her blog!!! I have no idea how she found me , but I am glad she did! She does not live very far from me and she is featuring local etsy sellers, and I am one of them!!! Thank you Anna for this great surprise and the lovely feature!
Gestern hatte ich eine mail von Anna in meinem Posteingang. She schrieb mir, dass ich auf ihren Blog gezeigt würde!!! Ich hab ehrlich gesagt keine Ahnung, wie sie mich gefunden hat, aber ich bin sehr froh darüber! Sie wohnt gar nicht so weit von mir weg und sie zeigt lokale Etsy Verkäufer, und davon bin ich eine!!! Vielen Dank Anna, für diese wunderbare Überraschung und das tolle Feature!!!

..... leider schon wieder Schluß! Die Lieblingsdingeleien sind für diese Jahr schon wieder vorbei, aber es hat wirklich sehr viel Spaß gemacht!! Freu mich schon auf´s nächste Jahr!!! Und hier ein paar Eindrücke vom Sonntag: war wirklich gemütlich beim Adventskalender basteln, Kekse und Kuchen essen und beim sich gegenseitig Bücher vorlesen und vorstellen...;-)) Wunderbar und sehr entspannend...!

The End - allready!!! The Lieblingsdingeleien (maybe you could translate it with "favourite thingies"...;-)) are over for this year, unfortunately, but it was so much fun, really! I am already looking forward to next year! Some impressions from Sunday for you to have a look at: it was so cosy crafting Adventscalendars, eating cookies and cakes and ready books to each other...;-)) Wonderful and relaxing....!!

Studio Time

its the best!!! I have been really grumpy lately, because I had so much stuff to do but not much studio time at all! So I decided this can not go on any longer! I need to in the studio at least on day each week and play! So this week I did not finish a couple of things, but I gave myself the much needed time in my studio! And it was sooo good! One of the best ideas ever! See what I have made:
In Studio zu sein ist doch am besten! In letzter Zeit war ich ziemlich grumpelig, weil ich soooo viel zu tun hatte, aber keine Zeit, um was im Studio zu machen. Also habe ich beschloßen soo kanns nicht weiter gehen. Mindestens ein Tag in der Woche muß drin sein, um neues zu machen und Inspirationen um zu setzten. Und diese Woche hab ich einfach einiges NICHT fertig gemacht, aber mir dafür Studiozeit gemonnen. Und das war soooo gut! Eine der besten Ideen überhaupt! ...a walk through the woods

Sometimes everything comes different than planned. This weekend was just like that! I did not want to have it complettly spoiled, and so we went for a nice long walk through the woods. I love the woods in Autumn, especially when its foggy! Do you want to come with me and have a look at all the wonderful mushrooms???

Manchmal kommt alles anders als geplant. Dieses Wochenende war so eins! Und nachdem ich es nicht komplett verdorben haben wollte, habe wir einen schönen langen Spaziergang durch den Wald gemacht. Ich liebe den Wald im Herbst, gerade wenns ein bisschen nebelig ist! Wollt ihr mitkommen und ein paar von den vielen wunderbaren Pilzen anschauen??

Ahhhh!!! So wonderful and reviving....;-)) Need to to that more often!

On the way home we had a spectacular sky over France...Love it!

Yesterday was a happy mail day!!! I got a big packet. I knew it was coming, but it was quicker than I thought! What it was you ask? Well, I think you know by now that I am one lucky girl, right? When I was at the Hello Etsy Summit in Berlin, I won a prize at the sticker game by Moo. Well, to be exact I did not win just any prize, I won THE first prize! A big coupon for ordering some goodies at Moo. It took me a while to do it, because after coming back from Berlin, I had many new ideas, what I want to change with my bussiness "outfit" and Melissa Calavan´s (of Moo) speach helped me a lot to get things lined up straight!
So yesterday I got my super big prize!!! And I am so happy about it! It came just in time for my next markets and it looks sooooooo much better than my older material. I just can repeate: I am a lucky girl....,-))

Gestern war mal wieder ein glücklicher Posttag bei mir!!! Ich hab ein große Packet bekommen. Ich wuste schon das es kommen wird, aber es war viel schneller als ich gedacht habe! Was drin war, wollt ihr wissen? Naja, ich denke ihr habt inzwischen mitbekommen das ich ein Glückskind bin, nicht war? Als ich in Berlin beim Hello Etsy Kongress war, habe ich beim Stickerspiel vom Moo einen Preis gewonnen. Um genau zu sein: ich hab nicht irgendeinen Preis gewonnen, sondern DEN Hauptpreis! Einen fetten Gutschein, mit dem ich mir bei Moo was aussuchen konnte. Ich hatte eine Weile dazu gebraucht, denn nachdem ich aus Berlin zurück war, hatte ich so viele neue Ideen, was ich bei meinem Bussiness Look ändern wollte und die Rede von Melissa Calavan (von Moo) hat mir sehr dabei geholfen wirklich gute Ideen dafür zu bekommen!
Und gestern ist nun mein Super-Hauptpreis eingetroffen!!! Und ich bin wirklich glücklich mit meinen neuen Karten, Rahmen, Etuis.....!! Gerade rechtzeitig für meine nächsten Märkte und es sieht sooooo viel besser aus als meine älteren Karten usw.. Ich kann nur wiederholen: ich bin ein Glückskind....;-)) Und natürlich VIELEN DANK MOO!!

Day of Animals - Tierischer Tag...;-))

Today I had to go a different part of town. I really like the way to go there, because I have to take a bridge that crosses over the zoo. I love it, because often you can get a view of one of my favourite animals: the elephants! Today it was really could so I did not expect to see them, but they where there! I am always so happy, when I see them, especially since we had a terribe fire in the zoo not so long ago and the elephants only escaped in the last minute! Unfortunately I had no camera with me. ;-((
Heute war ich in einem anderen Teil der Stadt. Ich mag es sehr gerne wenn ich diesen Weg machen muß, den ich muß über eine Brücke, die über unseren Zoo geht. Ich liebe es, den oft kann man einen Blick auf eins meiner Lieblingstiere erhaschen: die Elefanten! Heute war es ziemlich kalt und daher habe ich nicht erwartet sie zu sehen, aber sie ware da! Ich freue mich immer sehr wenn ich sie sehe, ganz besonders nachdem wir vor nicht all zu langer Zeit ein furchtbares Feuer im Zoo hatten und die Elefanten sind buchstäblich in letzter Minute entkommen! Leider hatte ich keine Kamera dabei...;-((

But wait, there are more animals for today! I picked up the posters for my next craft market: beautiful kitsch deers....;-))
Moment mal es gibt noch mehr Tierisches für heute! Ich hab die Flyer für meinen nächsten Markt abgeholt: wunderbare, kitschige Hirsche...;-))
And the best of all! Andrea´s Soap Pigs are on the cover of our town´s event mag! And my two next events are inside...;-)) I picked up the mag, when I did some shopping and only when I took it out of my bag at home I finally realized: "Wait a minute! I know these pigs!" LOL...sometimes I can be slow...;-)
Und das Beste zum Schluß: Andreas Seifenschweine sind auf dem Cover der InKa (das Stadtmagazin von Karlsruhe)! Und meine beiden nächsten Events sind innen drin....;-)) Ich hab die InKa beim Einkaufen mitgenommen und erst als ich sie zu Hause aus meiner Tasche raus genommen habe, hab ich gedacht: "Moment mal! Die Schweine kennst Du doch!" LOL...ja manchmal bin ich doch etwas langsam!

Als ich in Berlin war, hab ich die Nauli Schwestern kennen gelernt. Wir haben uns auf Anhieb wirklich prima verstanden und ich würde mich freuen wenn wir uns öfter treffen könnten! Die beiden haben einen wunderbaren Shop mit handgebundenen Büchern und anderen Papeterien, für einen Papier-und Bücherfetischisten wie mich eine Augenweide!
Jetzt gerade läft bei den Naulis ein Gewinnspiel und es gibt Washi Tape im Wert von 70 € zu gewinnen ... wohh!! Schauts Euch mal an, es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!

Schön wars!!! Ach nein, eigentlich wars genial!!! Ich hätte nie mit so großem Zuspruch gerechnet. Kaum waren die Türen auf, gings auch schon los, und riss nicht mehr ab!!! Ich kam erst wieder zum Luftholen, da wars auch schon fast vorbei!! Einfach genial...;-))

It was great!! No actually it was fantastic!!! I never would have thought there would be such a great reception. The moment the doors opend, I was busy, and it did not stop anymore!!! The first time I was able to take a breath it was nearly over already!!! Wohhh, just wohh!!

Ich hab ein paar (wenige) Fotos gemacht, zu mehr reichte die Zeit einfach nicht. Aber die möchte ich Euch natürlich nicht vor enthalten. Auf der Website der Lieblingsdingeleien gibt es eine sehr schöne Diashow mit noch mehr schönen Eindrücken zu sehen. Und natürlich auch das Programm für die kommenden Wochen. Schauts Euch mal an, vieleicht ist ja was dabei für Euch?
Ich biete am 06.Nov (und als Ersatztermin 20.Nov.) einen Workshoptermin für Arbeiten mit Polymer Clay an und freue mich natürlich über Anmeldungen!

as I had promised, today I will show you what I made at the workshops at the ECC. Short and sweet:
wie ich ja versprochen hatte, möchte ich Euch heute zeigen, was in in den Workshops beim ECC gemacht habe. Kurz und bündig:

First the "Wonderful Scraps" pendant, I made in Bettina Welker´s class. Bettina called it blowfish straight away, and I have to admitt it looks like one...;-))
Als erstes der "Wonderful Scrap" Anhänger, den ich in Bettina Welkers Kurs gemacht habe. Bettina meinte, der sieht wie ein Blowfish aus und ich muß zugeben er hat was davon...;-))

Second my Artichoke technique pentant, I made in Eva Ehmeier´s class. You really need to concentrate on what you are doing with this technique, but I love to work in different ways, than I normaly would do.
Als nächstes der Artischocken Anhänger, den ich in Eva Ehmeiers Kurs gemacht habe. Man muß sich ganz schön konzentrieren bei dieser Technik, aber ich liebe es neue Techniken aus zu probieren!

This bird in my work from Leslie Blackfords class. And I totaly loved it! Every bird had a different assesoire and it was wonderful to see what everyone came up with. My Gentleman bird just needed a pipe and a moustache...;-))
Dieser Vogel ist in Leslies Blackfords Kurs entstanden. Der Kurs war einfach umwerfend gut! Jeder einzelen Vogel hat ein anderes Assesoire bekommen und es war echt witzig zu sehen, mit was sie alles geschmückt wurden. Mein Gentleman Vogel brauchte unbedingt eine Pfeife und einen Schnurrbart ;-))

These are the three tiny bowls, I got in the bowl swap. I love them! I have no idea who made the one on the left, but I think it is really cool! The middle one is a very shiny golden bowl made by my dear friend Gladis and the right one is made by my new friend Galina...;-)) I was so lucky to get these treasures!
Und das sind die drei Schälchen, die ich beim Bowl Swap bekommen habe. Ich liebe sie! Ich habe leider keine Ahnung wer das Schüßelchen links gemacht hat, aber ich finde die Idee mit den bunten Ringen sehr schön! Die mMittlere ist sehr schön gold und glänzend, gemacht hat sie meine liebe Freundin Gladis. Und die rechte wurde von meiner neuen Freundin Galina gemacht. Ich hatte so viel Glück diese wunderbaren Schüßelchen zu bekommen!
Today I finished the bracelet, I made in Donnas class. It still needs some sanding and I will show you what I made, when the sanding is done...;-)
Heute hab ich noch den Armreif fertig gemacht, den ich in Donnas Klasse angefangen habe. Er muß aber noch ein bisschen geschliffen werden. Wenn das fertig ist, bekommt ihr den natürlich auch noch zu sehen....;-)

BTW: anyone else whats to join the Organized Studio project? You can join in any time, you know?
PS: Will vielleicht noch jemand bei unserem Organized Studio Projekt mitmachen? Ihr könnt jeder Zeit einsteigen, ja?

Organized Studio 2011 - do you want to join?

This weekend was one of my fist ones at home for, well how long was it?, a month? I had lots of things on my to-do list, but I did not do much of it. I spent some quality time with my kids, which I really enjoyed, Mr. H. was away so I could not spent much time with him, I did not enjoy that so much. But all together it was a quite, relaxing weekend. And I had some time to think! One thing I noticed was that I always have lots of plans, but get sidetracked or am not as much inspired, as I could be. Part of it is, I am sure, because my studio is so packed full with stuff and not as organized as I would like to have it (some of you might think otherwise, but I know how much time I spent looking for things and rearranging!). So I came up with a new project and the "Organized Studio 2010" was born! Since it is always nice to have company and it is much more fun to do something together, I invite everyone of you to join in! Want to?
Diese Wochenende was das erste seit, wie lang wars gleich nochmal? einen Monat, dass ich zu Hause war? Ich hatte natürlich eine lange To-Do Liste, aber ich hab nicht wirklich viel davon erledigt bekommen. Ich habe Zeit mit meinen Kindern verbracht und das war wirklich schön, Herr H. was leider unterwegs, was nicht so schön war, denn ich konnte kaum Zeit mit ihm verbringen. Aber alles in Allem wars ein schönes, entspannendes Wochenende. Und so hatte ich auch ein bisschen Zeit zu reflektieren. Und eins ist mir aufgefallen, ich habe immer einen ganzen Haufen Pläne, aber ich werde oft abgelenkt oder ich bin nicht so inspiriert wie ich sein könnte. Ein Teil davon hängt sicher damit zusammen, das mein Studio totall voll gestopft ist und nicht so gut organisiert wie ich das gerne hätte (manche könnten vielleicht denken, das ist gar nicht so wild, aber ich weiß wie lange ich manchmal damit verbringe Sachen zu suchen und neu anzuordnen!). Jedenfalls wurde so ein neues Projekt ist Leben gerufen: das "Organized Studio 2011"! Und da es immer viel netter ist etwas zusammen zu machen und Gesellschaft zu haben, seit ihr alle eingeladen mit zu machen! Wer möchte gerne?

So how does it work? Well I do not want to add another pressure point to my or anyone elses to-do list, so we will take it easy, but still effective!
First thing is to take pictures of your studio (or it could be another place where you work, if you like) to record how it looks now! And show them! You can do this on your blog, if you have one, or on Flickr (I set up a group for the Organizes Studio 2011 project, that you can join!). Please, leave a comment here so I can put you on the list of participants! I will publish this list here and add new ones, as they join in.
Next is to set your rules!
Mine will be: I will dedicate at least half an hour of organizing something in my studio on 5 days each week. I know, I will have a hard time to do it every day, so I am going for 5 days each week. That sounds like a managable number to me. And the same goes for half an hour. If I like to spent more time, well, I can do so. Now its your turn! Find rules how much time you want to spent on organizing and tell them! Again on your blog or on the flickr group!
And finally: take more pictures! This time of the changes! Again no presure here: set your own rules how often you want to do it and show them! I will do it every 4 weeks, or more often if I think I have made a good progress.
That´s it! Does that sound managable? To me, it does and I hope some of you like to join me, too!
Also wie soll das ganze funktionieren? Ich möchte werden bei mir noch bei sonst jemanden den Stress erhöhen, deswegen werden wir das alles schön gemütlich angehen, aber trotzdem nicht vergessen, das wir was erreichen wollen, nicht war? ;-)
Als ersten sollen Bilder des Jetzt-Zustandes von deinen Studio (oder es kann auch ein anderer Raum sein, in dem Du arbeitest) gemacht werden und natürlich auch gezeigt. Das kannst Du auf Deinem Blog machen, wenn Du einen hast, oder auf Flickr (wo ich auch eine Gruppe für diese Projekt gegründet habe, wo ihr natürlich gerne beitretten könnt!). Dann hinterlasst mir bitte einen Kommentar mit dem entsprechenden Link, damit ich Euch zur Liste der Teilnehmerinnen hinzufügen kann. Die werde ich dann auch wieder hier veröffentlichen und aktualisieren, wenn neue dazu kommen.
Als nächstes legts Du Deine Regel fest!
Meine Regel sind: Ich werde mindestens eine halbe Stunde an 5 Tagen in der Woche irgendetwas in meinem Studio aufräumen oder neu organisieren. Ich weiß, dass ich das nicht jeden Tag schaffen werde, deshalb nur an 5 Tagen pro Woche und auch nur für mindestens eine halbe Stunde. Wenn ich Lust hab kann ich natürlich auch länger damit zubringen! So und jetzt seit Ihr dran: Wie sind Eure Regeln? Finde Regeln wieviel Zeit ihr für die Organisation Eures Studios investieren wollt und sagt sie uns! Wieder entweder auf Eurem Blog oder in der Flickr Gruppe.
Und als letztes: noch mehr Fotos machen! Diesmal von der Veränderung. Aber wieder ohne Stress: findet Eure eigenen Regeln wie oft Ihr das machen wollt und zeigt uns was passiert ist! Ich werde alle 4 Wochen Fotos machen, oder öfter wenn es wirklich große Veränderungen gegeben hat.
Das wars auch schon! Na klingt das machbar? Ich finde schon und ich hoffe einige von Euch werden Lust haben mit zu machen!

The ECC in Bad Homburg is over

The ECC in Bad Homburg is over and we all had a blast! I was really tiered and it took me a while to get all my things back to where they belong. And it was soooooo worth it and I can´t wait till our next workshop!
Der Euro Clay Carnival in Bad Homburg ist leider vorbei, aber wir hatten alle so viel Spaß!! Ich war wirklich sehr müde und es hat auch eine ganze Weile gedauert bis ich alles wieder zurück an seine Plätze verstaut hatte. Aber es war einfach genial und ich kanns kaum erwarten, bis wir unseren nächsten Workshop haben!!

Etsy auf Deutsch - Etsy in German

Ich weiß nicht ob ihr es schon mitbekommen habt, daß es seit dem 24. Mai Etsy endlich auch in Deutsch gibt! Ich finde das prima, den es vereinfacht doch einiges für alle die mit Englisch doch nicht ganz so firm sind. Und ich bin stolz darauf, nun auch meinen ganz persönlichen Etsy-Shop komplett in beide Sprachen übersetzt zu haben. Alles was neu rein kommt wird natürlich auch zweisprachig sein! Ihr könnt jetzt einfach einstellen, ob ihr alles in Deutsch oder Englisch sehen wollt, ganz nach Eurer Vorliebe. Ich werde diese Jahr auch viel mehr in meinen Etsy-Shop einstellen und bis Weihnachten eine schön vollen Laden präsentieren...;-)) Vielleicht schaut ihr ja auch mal vorbei?

I do not know if you noticed it, but Etsy is since 24th of May bilingual! You can see everything in German, too! I think that is wonderful and it makes it much easier for all the German Sellers (me incuded!) and German buyer, that have difficulties with English, as well. Now I also translated everything in my own Etsy-Shop and I am proud to say now it is bilingual, too! Everything I will add from now on will be bilingual! You can choose if you prefer to read everything in English or German, just as you wish! This year I plan to add much more to my Etsy-shop and have a pretty full shop for the holiday season! Maybe you like to come over for a visit?

Und weil das ja noch nicht genug ist, gibt es noch ein paar andere Neuerungen (vielleicht haben es ja schon einige gemerkt): ich habe meine alte Website herunter genommen und angefange eine neue Seite zu bauen: www.anke-humpert.de
Sie ist noch lange nicht fertig, ich denke auch das das ein Projekt ist, an dem ich immer mal wieder was verändern werde. Hello Etsy - Hello Berlin

I am back home. And I had a blast!! Short version of my long weekend.
But I guess you guys would like to hear a tiny bit more, right? I did not really know, what to expect from the Hello Etsy Summit, but since it was in Berlin it was a win-win situation for me. I would take any excuse to go back to Berlin. But as it turnes out, it was totally worth going to the Summit, too!!! I meet tones of inspiring, interesting people, some I had known online, some I had not even heard about before. I had a hard time choosing which speeches I wanted to hear, because they all sounded awesome. I was a bit stressed out about that, until I realized: Etsy is livestreaming everything! So I still can watch the ones I missed!!! How cool is that? ( go here to check them out!!!)

Ich bin wieder zu Hause. Und ich hatte ein großartiges verlängertes Wochenende.
Das ist die Kurzversion meines WEs, aber ich denke das reicht Euch nicht, nicht war? ;-) Ich wusste nicht so wirklich, was mich beim Hello Etsy Summit erwarten würde, aber nachdem es ja auch noch in Berlin statt fand, war das ja eine win-win Situation für mich. Ich würde ja jede Möglichkeit war nehmen, wieder nach Berlin zu kommen. Aber es hat sich herausgestellt, das es absolut lohnenswert war zum Hello Etsy Summit zu gehen, und zwar in jeder Beziehung! Ich habe jede Menge interesante, inspirierende Leute getroffen, mit einigen hatte ich schon vorher online Kontakt gehabt, von anderen hatte ich noch nicht mal was gehört gehabt. Ich hatte einige Schwierigkeiten mir ein Programm zusammen zu stellen, weil sich alles so interesant angehört hat! Das hat mich etwas gestresst, bis ich realisiert habe, das Etsy ja alles aufgenommen hat und online stellt. Und so kann ich alle Reden, die ich nicht live mitbekommen habe immer noch anhören! Wie cool ist das denn? ( hier könnt ihr auch schauen).

Friday till Sunday was filled with conference activities and Monday I had a day off. I spent it with my new friends and the evening was reserved for my old friends, I was staying with. Tuesday was time to say good bye, and to make it even harder, the guy, I was supposed to drive home with, had to cancel the trip. So what is a girl to do? I took a train back home! But since the Deutsch Bahn is not so fond of spontanious people like me, I decided to take a very slow (and much cheaper!) ride home and enjoy the views of the country side. I meet so many funny people on the train, the time went by quickly!!!

Freitag bis Sonntag waren mit Veranstaltungen von Hello Etsy angefüllt und Montag hatte ich einen freien Tag. Den habe ich dann mit einigen neuen Freunden verbracht und der Abend war für meine alten Freunde, bei denen ich auch gewohnt habe, reserviert. Am Dienstag war es dann wieder Zeit, Abschied zu nehmen, und um es noch schlimmer zu machen, hat mir der Typ, mit dem ich eigentlich nach Hause fahren wollte, ganz kurzfristig abgesagt. Was soll man da schon machen? Ich hab mir dann eine Zug ausgesucht. Aber da die Deutsche Bahn kaum Verständniss für so spontane Menschen wie mich hat, hab ich mich für einen ziemlich lahmen (aber wesentlich billigeren!) Zug entschieden und beschlossen, einfach ein bisschen mehr von der deutschen Landschaft zu begutachten. Aber wie das bei mir halt so ist, hab ich wieder eine Menge spassiger Bekanntschaften im Zug gemacht und die Zeit verging wie im Flug!

I think, I will tell you more about the inspiration, I had during my trip in some future posts. Its just to much for one go...;-)) And I also have to digest it for a while! Its always good to get out and do some travelling and experience new things!

Ich denke damit lass ichs mal für heute mal gut sein. Es war echt zu viel um alles auf ein Mal zu erzählen. Und ich muß auch erstmal ein bischen sortieren in meinem Kopf...;-)) Aber es ist doch immer wieder gut mal raus zu kommen, zu Reisen und neue Dinge zu erleben!

Just come back from the mountains!!! Since this summer had some pretty tough times for us, it was great to get grounded in the soulitude of the mountains again. In the pictures you can see the hut where we stayed and the spectacular view we had. Breathtaking!
Since school started again this week, we had to come back. Did a couple of days of washing our stuff, getting the organisation for the back to school done and preparing my next trip! Yes, tonight I will be going to Berlin! So much looking forward to it! But my program will be much different to my normal visits: I am going to the Hello Etsy Summit! So I have a real full program....;-)
Grade erst von den Bergen zurück gekommen!!! Nachdem dieser Sommer wirklich sehr hart für uns war, war es wunderbar in der Einsamkeit der Berge wieder den Boden under den Füßen zu finden. Auf den Bildern könnt ihr "unsere" Hütte sehen und auch die spektakulären Ausblicke, die wir hatten! Einfach atemberaubend!
Aber da die Schule am Montag wieder angefangen hat, mußten wir natürlich wieder zurück kommen. In den letzten Tagen hab ich einen riesen Berg Wäsche gewaschen, alles für den Schulanfang organisiert und meine nächste Reise vorbereitet! Ja, heute abend werde ich nach Berlin fahren! Und ich freu mich schon riesig darauf!! Auch wenn es diesmal ein ganz anderes Program wird, als sonst so üblich, denn ich werde den Hello Etsy Summit besuchen. Und da werde ich ein ziemlich volles Program haben...;-))

Summer break

Tomorrow we will take off to our much needed summer holidays. The solitude of the mountains will do us all good! Will be back end of September. Take good care until then!
Morgen werden wir endlich in unsere wirklich nötigen Sommerferien fahren! Die einsamkeit der Berge ist genau das was wir jetzt alle brauchen! Ende September werde ich wieder zurück sein! Bis dahin: passt gut auf Euch auf!

How I change recipes to vegan recipes

In my last posted I mentioned that I changed the recipe of the original cinnamon pull apart bread to a vegan recipe. I was quite surprised, that I got quite a couple of questions because of that. I did not realize that some of you would be interested in knowing, how I do that. But I hear you and as I promised I will tell you, what I do. It will be a bit of a lengthy post, so if that is not your cup of tea, just skip it...;-))In meinem letzten Post hatte ich erwähnt, das ich das Orginalrezept für das Zimt-Zerreis-Brot geändert und vegan gemacht habe. Ich habe dazu einige Fragen von Euch bekommen und ich war doch überrascht, weil ich nicht damit gerechnet hatte, dass das einige von Euch interessiert. Diese Post wird etwas länger werden, also wenn das nicht Euer Thema ist, einfach überlesen, ja? ;-))

End of last year I had a phase that was one of my worst ones since a long time. I knew I had to change something to better care for myself and get out of the circles of highs and lows. I have been reading up quite a bit on that and finally I realized my way of eating had to do much with it. I needed change and I wanted to change fast! So I jumped right in and stopped eating meat or animal products. Luckily my family is very open for my crazy changes and so they have been very understanding and I must say it was one of the best ideas I had! Since going vegan, I am much more staple.
Letztes Jahr hatte ich eine Phase, die seit langer Zeit eine der schlimmsten überhaupt war. Ich wußte, irgenwas mußte sich ändern und ich müßte mich besser um mich selbst kümmern und aus dem ewigen Kreislauf von Hochs und Tiefs raus zu kommen. Ich hab ziemlich viel dazu gelesen und habe realisiert, meine Art zu Essen hat ganz schön viel damit zu tun. Ich wollte eine Veränderung und zwar schnell! Also hab ich den Sprung ins kalte Wasser gewagt und habe aufgehört Fleisch oder andere Tierprodukte zu essen. Glücklicherweise ist meine Familie sehr toterant was meinen verrückten Ideene angeht und sie haben alles mitgemacht. Eine der besten Ideen, die ich jemals hatte. Seit ich mich vegan ernähre, geht es mir so viel besser.

But from the idea, to actually doing it is still a way to go! And I had to change quite a bit. I had no problem going without meat of fish, I had my vegetarian phases before, so I knew what I was doing here. But no dairy, no eggs, no honey .... well that needed a bit more planning! Since I am not the first person to do this, luckily I found some really good recources and books. And soon I realized: there is no recipe that can not be changed to a vegan recipe! It might not taste exacly the same (to say that, would be rediculous anyway!), but I love to experiment in the kitchen anyway. I tried out a lot of things, some were good for me, some I did not like at all, and after half a year I notice that I finally got some routine in my new eating habbits. And I am feeling safe in changing my old recipes, or new ones I like, but that do use animal products. And you can change a lot! With cooking I always changed recipes to what I liked better, but baking was like a holy cow for me!! I always believed, you had to follow the recipes to the letter to be a successful baker. But I know better now! If you know what you are doing, you can change a lot! One book helped my a lot and I highly recomend it, is this:

Aber von der Idee zum Umsetzen ist natürlich auch noch einiges zu bewältigen! Und da gab es wirklich einiges zu Ändern! Auf Fleisch und Fisch zu verzichten, machte mir keine großen Probleme, ich hatte ja schon einige vegetarischen Phasen hinter mir. Aber Milchprodukte, Eier und Honig weg zu lassen ist echt noch mal eine andere Herausforderung! Aber da ich natürlich nicht die erste Person bin, die vegan ißt, habe ich eine ganze Reihe von guten Quellen und Büchern gefunden. Und schon bald hab ich gemerkt, es gibt kein Rezept, was nicht vegan umgeändert werden kann! Natürlich schmeckt nicht alles genau gleich (das wäre ja wirklich lächerlich, das zu behaupten!), aber ich liebe es ja sowieso in der Küche herum zu experimentieren! Ich habe viele Sachen ausprobiert, vieles für Gut befunden, vieles fand ich auch furchtbar und nach einen halben Jahr merke ich langsam wie ich Routine mit meiner neuen Ess/ Kochgewohnheit bekomme. Und ich fühle mich langsam sicher damit meine alten Rezepte, und auch neue, die ich gut finde, die aber nicht vegan sind, um zu schreiben und vegan zu machen. Und man kann wirklich so viel abändern! Beim Kochen hab ich sowieso schon immer alles möglich nach Gusto geändert, aber Backen war wie eine Heilige Kuh für mich: da hab ich mich gar nicht getraut, das Rezept zu ändern und hab alles wortwörtlich befolgt, weil ich dachte sonst wirds nix! Aber ich bin nun eines besseren belehr worden und man kann wahnsinning viel ändern! Ein Buch was mir sehr dabei geholfen hat und was ich wirklich sehr empfehlen kann, ist folgendes:

Here you find great tips and foolproof methodes (really!) to change any recipe to a vegan one. Since the couple who wrote this book are American and Swiss, the recipes are even good for both American and European taste! The only thing I sometimes have trouple with, is finding all the ingrediences. But I am getting better at that, too!
Hier findet man wunderbare Tipps und idiotensichere (wirklich!) Methoden und jedes Rezept in ein veganes Rezept zu verwandeln. Und da die beiden Autoren ein Amerikaner und eine Schweizerin sind, sind die Rezepte für den amerikanischen UND den europäischen Geschmack geeignet! Das einzige was manchmal ein bisschen schwierig ist, ist alle Zutaten zu bekommen. Aber auch da werde ich besser..;-))

Long story! Finally of course, I do want to give you my version on the Cinnamon Pull Apart Recipe, as I have promised:
I am lazy, did you know? I also made the dough in my bread maschine...;-))
Here are the ingrediance (fill your bread maschine according to the makers instruction!):

125 ml ( 1/2 cup) vegetable milk
5 tablespoons water
100g (3,5 onces) vegan margarine
75 g sugar ( 2,5 onces)
1 pince of salt
360 g flour ( 12 onces)( I used wheat 550, use any standard flour!)
and one pack of dry yeast.
Put everything in your bread maschine and choose your dough program.
When the dough is done take it out of the maschine, roll it with a rolling pin, spread melted vegan margarine on it and sprinkel with sugar and cinnamon. ( From here you can use the directions from the original recipe again! So I will just give the basic instructions here!) Cut squares and stack them, place them in your baking dish and bake at 175°C ( 350°F) for 35 minutes. Thats is. Easy right?
Lange Geschichte, nicht war? Am Schluß will ich Euch natürlich, wie versprochen noch meine Version des Zimt-Zerreiss-Brotes geben! Und da ich faul bin (schon gemerkt?), hab ich den Teig im meinem Brotbackautomaten gemacht.
Hier sind die Zutaten (bitte füllt Euren Automaten nach den Herstelleranweisungen!):

125 ml pflanzliche Milch ( Soja, Reis, Hafer)
5 Eßl Wasser
100g vegane Margarine
75g Zucker
1 Priese Salz
360g Mehl ( ich hab 550er Weizenmehl genommen, aber das ist nicht zwingend!)
und ein Päckchen Trockenhefe.
Alles in den Brotbackautomaten füllen und "Teigprogramm" wählen. Wenn der Teig fertig ist, raus nehmen mit geschmolzener veganer Margarine bestreichen, mit Zimt und Zucker bestreuen und in Quadrate schneiden (man kann hier mit dem Orginalrezept weiter arbeiten! Daher kürze ich hier ein bisschen...;-)) ), stapeln und in die Backform füllen. bei 175°C ca 35 min backen. Das wars! Einfach oder?

..... finally we got a new stove!!!
Today I tested it: I baked a cinamom pull-apart bread. I found some recipes, but of course I had to change them ( made a vegan recipe out of it first of all!) and it turned out delicious!!! So happy!

Endlich haben wir einen neuen Herd!!!
Und heute hab ich die Röhre ausprobiert: ich hab ein Zimt-Zerreis-Brot gebacken!!! ich hab das Rezept gefunden, aber natürlich hab ichs erstmal geändert ( zu einem veganen Rezept) und es ist absolut lecker geworden!!! Ich bin echt glücklich !!!

15 kg Pflaumen!

I belief some of you like to know what happend to the plums, right? Okay, here we go: we drove to Mr.H.´s auntie to pick the plums on Saturday. She was really happy that we freed her from the fruits and made us a nice plum cake as a reward for picking..;-)) We had 15 kg ( around 33 pounds!) of plums! Since we had to go in that direction anyway, we decides to take a trip to Strassbourg in France after the picking. The weather was very mixed, but we still had a lovely time and a nice dinner in the old town.
Ich glaube einige von Euch würden gerne erfahren, was jetzt eigentlich mit den Pflaumen passiert ist, nicht war?? Okay, na dann mal los: am Samstag sind wir zu Herrn Hs Tante gefahren um sie von den Pflaumen zu befreien. Sie war sehr froh darüber und als Belohnung haben wir einen leckeren Pflaumenkuchen bekommen. Wir haben 15 kg gepflückt! Nachdem wir ja sowieso schon in die Richtung gefahren waren, haben wir beschlossen noch nach Strassbourg zu fahren, nachdem wir mit dem Pflücken fertig waren. Das Wetter war ziemlich gemischt, aber wir hatten trotzdem einen schönen Nachmittag und ein leckeres Abendessen in der Altstadt.

We came home late on Saturday, so Sunday was Plumday...;-)) I had a couple of very good sugestions from my friends from all over and so I actually was looking forward to making something with the plums. First of all we gave half of them away to Mr. H´s brother. That was a very good move and we made someone happy, too. Next thing I did was to make a bit of room in the freezer to have at least some small packs of frozzen plums.
Am Samstag sind wir erst spät nach Hause gekommen und so wurde der Sonntag zum Pflaumentag...;-)) Ich hatte ein paar ziemlich gute Vorschläge zur Verwendung der Pflaumen von meinen Freunden von überall her bekommen und damit gerüstet hatte ich auch echt Lust die Zwetschgen zu verarbeiten. Als erstes haben wir jedoch erstmal die Hälfte weiter verschenkt, an Herrn Hs Bruder. Das war eine ziemlich gute Idee und wir haben auch noch jemanden eine Freude damit gemacht. Als nächstes hab ich im Tiefkühler doch noch ein bisschen Platz machen können und wenigstens ein paar kleine Pflaumenpäckchen eingefroren.

Next I made jam. How did I do it? Well actually I had a very good idea myself: I have a bread maker and I had seen in the booklet, that they say you can actually make jam with it! I had never tried it out before, but I always wanted to. Of course there was no recipe for plum jam in the booklet, but I adjusted another one and it worked really well! You can not make big quantities with it, but it is a quick way to make jam and it saved me in this case, without needing a stove!
Dann hab ich Marmelade gemacht. Aber wie? Ich hatte irgendwann noch einen Geistesblitz: im Anleitungsheftchen meines Brotbackautomatens steht drin, das man damit auch Marmelade kochen könnte. Das woltte ich schon immer mal aus probieren, habs dann aber doch nicht gemacht. Natürlich gabs kein Rezept für Pflaumenmarmelade, aber ich hab einfach ein anderes umgewandelt, und es hat super funktioniert! Man kann zwar keine großen Mengen damit machen, aber es geht schön schnell und einfach und so ganz ohne Ofen war das natürlich die Rettung!

Since it was such nice weather we took a break and went for a walk, and found some nice blackberries and tons of apples! It was so nice outside! In the evening I made blackberry jam and it tastes sooooo yummy!!! After that, all my glasses for jam where used and I had to make something else.
Da das Wetter so schön war, haben wir eine Pause eingelegt und sind raus gegangen. Und wir haben Brombeeren und Unmengen von Äpfeln gefunden. Es war so schön drausen! Abends hab ich dann noch Brombeer-Marmelade gemacht und die schmeckt ja sooo lecker! Aber dannach hatte ich keine Gläser mehr für noch mehr Marmelade und so hab ich dann was anderes gemacht.

This morning I made some plum mustard and plum liqueur. The liqueur will take a while till it is good, but the mustard is read to use. I also started to make some plum vinegar, but that will also take some time to be finished and I will take a picture of it when it is done. We still have some more plums, but I think we will eat them just as they are...End of the pum story...;-))
Thank you everyone who suggested what I could do with them! I think with all your help I have done a quite good job and I enjoyed trying out some new things. If the weather was a bit more staple I would have done some dried plums, too, but its just to wet for that right now.
Heute morgen hab ich noch ein bisschen Pflaumen-Senf gemacht und Likör und Essig angesetzt. Der Likör und der Essig brauchen natürlich ne ganze Weile bis sie fertig sind und ich werds dann auch noch mal zeigen, wenns soweit ist. Wir haben immer noch ein paar Pflaumen übrig, aber die werden wir einfach so essen. Und das ist dann das Ende der Pflaumengeschichte...;-))
Vielen Dank noch mal an alle, die mir mit Ihren Vorschlägen geholfen habe. Und mit Eurer Hilfe hab ich das glaub ich ganz gut in den Griff bekommen und es hat sogar Spaß gemacht ein paar neue Rezepte aus zu probieren! Wenn das Wetter nicht so wechselhaft wäre, hätte ich gerne auch noch ein paar Pflaumen getrocknet, aber es ist einfach zu nass dafür.

Edit: I just mixed some mustard with plum jam ( lazy me!), but if you like to make your own mustard, watch this video its really simple!
Ich hab einfach Senf mit Pflaumenmus verrührt ( war ein bisschen faul), aber wenn Ihr Euren eigenen Senf machen wollt, schaut Euch mal dieses Video an, ist echt ganz einfach!

Plums!!! I need help...;-))

I love plums. Really I do!!! But this year we have a little problem you see: our oven was hit by some strange power circuit and is in oven heaven now. We still have not figured out how or where to get a new one, and a new one we definitly will need. And tomorrow is plum picking day! Plums yummy, LOTs of them! Normaly I make jam or plum cake with Streusel or Zwetschgenknödel... but what do I do without oven? I do not have such a lot of space in the freezer. And this is where I need your help: do you have a recipe or an idea, what one can do with plumes or preserve them WITHOUT needing an oven??? If you do I would LOVE to hear about it! Please post a comment and help me out, will you? ;-))

Ich liebe Pflaumen. Wirklich ich lieben sie einfach!!! Aber diese Jahr haben wir ein kleines Problem: unser Herd wurde von einem mysteriösen Stromschlag getroffen und ist nun im Herd-Himmel. Wir haben immer noch nicht herausgefunden, wo und vor allem wie wir einen neuen bekommen werde. Denn einen neuen brauchen wir ohne Frage. Und morgen ist Pflaumenpflück-Tag! Leckere Pflaumen, yummy, ganz viele!! Normalerweise mache ich Marmelade oder Zwetschgenkuchen mit Streuseln oder Zwetschgenknödel... aber was mach ich blos mit den vielen Zwetschgen OHNE Herd? Ich hab auch kaum noch Platz im Tiefkühler. Und da kommt Ihr ins Spiel: hat jemand von Euch ein Rezept oder eine geniale Idee, was man mit den vielen Pflaumen machen kann oder wie man sie konvervieren kann OHNE einen Herd zu benötigen? Falls Ihr da was tolles wißt, würde ich das wirklich gerne erfahren! Bitte postet doch einen Kommentar und erzählt mir davon, ja??? ;-))

Yesterday I started working on my art journal and after doing a couple of things, I got really tiered. I wanted to take a short nap and go back to painting. I fell so fast asleep that I slept for a real long time!!! And I missed a chat I wanted to have with my girl friends...;-(( I must have been really exhausted!!!

Gestern hab ich angefangen an meiner Art Journal Seite weiter zu arbeiten, aber ich war irgendwie total müde. Ich woltte mich nur kurz hinlegen und Zack war ich weg! Aus einem Nickerchen wurde ein ganz schön langer Nicker und ich hab sogar den Chat mit meinen Freundinnen verpast...;-(( Ich war wohl ziemlich alle!!!

Since our oven story seams to go on for a bit longer, we borrowed a little gas stove from Mr. H. sister´s. This is how I cook right now! You might think this is teribble, but actually I find it kind of funny. I completly had forgotten, that this is exactly the way we used to cook, when I was still living in India. The family I was staying with, had one like this as their normal kitchen oven, for a family of 6 plus guests. And this was ususal for a middle class family. It was no problem, and thinking of it I now I just have to dig into my memory and I know I will be all right....;-))

Nachdem unsere Herdgeschichte wohl noch ein bisschen länger gehen wird, haben wir einen kleinen Gaskocher von Herr H. Schwester ausgeliehen. Und so koche ich jetzt grade! Vielleicht meint Ihr das wäre anstrengend, aber ehrlich gesagt finde ichs ganz lustig. Ich hatte komplett vergessen, das wir genau so einen Herd hatten, als ich in Indien gewohnt habe. Die Familie, bei der ich gelebt habe, hatte das als ihre ganz normale Kücheneinrichtung, für eine 6 köpfige Familie plus Gäste. Und das war ganz normal für eine Mittelklassenfamilie. Es war überhaupt kein Problem, und jetzt muß ich einfach ein bisschen in meinem Gedächniss graben, und dann werde ich das schon hinbekommen...;-))

For day #30 I took a couple of pictures on my balcony. I have a little garden there and grow some veggies and flowers. Right now there is a lot to see:

Für Tag #30 hab ich einige Bilder auf meinen Balkon gemacht. Ich hab einen kleinen Garten auf dem Balkon und hab einiges an Gemüse und Blumen darin. Im Augenblick gibts da etliches zu sehen:

Yesterday I started working on a new art journal page. Not everything worked out the way I had it planned, but I still like this background. I used Glimmer Mists on this page and they have a very nice sheen to them. It´s kind of hard to see in the picture, so I did a second one from the side.
Gestern habe ich wieder eine neue Seite in meinem Art Journal angefangen. Es ist zwar nich alles ganz so geworden, wie ich es geplant hatte, aber ich mag diesen Hintergrund trotzdem. Ich habe Glimmer Mists verwendet und die Seiten haben einen wunderbaren Schimmer bekommen. Es ist ziemlich schwierig das auf dem Foto zu sehen, daher hab ich noch ein zweites von der Seite gemacht.

Today I brought my daughter to the train station and she took a trip to my parents. She has not done this very often, but when I am sending SMS back and forth with her, she feels safen and not bored to much. She just got picked up at her final train station, so everything is fine;-))
With the kids gone for their summer holiday trips, the house is quite empty and I was hoping to get lots of stuff done.
Unfortunately this power problem is still not completty solved: today our oven was checked and obviously such a high amount of voltage run through it, when we had that circuit cut, the the electronic parts where just killed! No way to bring it back to live! I was hoping, that at least some parts would still work. Meaning we need to get a new one. No good!
Heute hab ich meine Tochter zum Bahnhof gebracht und sie ist zu meinen Eltern los gefahren. Sie hat sowas noch nicht so oft gemacht, aber wenn ich mit ihr SMS schicke fühlt sie sich nicht so alleine und gelangweilt. Grade wurde sie jedoch von meinen Eltern abgeholt und alles ist gut...;-)
Da die Kinder jetzt auf ihren Ferienreisen sind ist das Haus plötzlich ganz schön still und leer. Ich hoffe das ich etliches erledigt bekomme so lange sie weg sind.
Dummerweise ist ja unser Stromproblem immer noch nicht ganz behoben: heute wurde unser Herd gecheckt und offensichtlich hat er bei dem Kurzschluß eine so große Überspannung abbekommen, das die elektronischen Teile einfach gekillt wurden! Keine Chance ihn wieder zu beleben! Ich hatte ja gehofft, das er zumindest teilweise noch funktionieren würde. Das heißt wir müssen und einen neuen zulegen. So ein Mist!!

.....another Zentangle! I know it might get kind of boring for you to watch me draw one zentangle after the other, but I do find it very calming and relaxing. And if everything else fails, I still can zentangle!
The last couple of days where, well how do I put it? Disturbing? Do you have those days, too, when everything just seams to go wrong? I am very much tempted to just go back to bed and get back into the Land of Nod when that happens!
...noch ein Zentangle! Ich weiß, langsam wirds Euch sicher schon langweilig, mir dabei zu zu schauen ein zentangle nach dem anderen zu zeichnen, aber ich finde es sehr entspannend und beruhigend. Und wenn gar nichts mehr geht, ein zentangle geht immer! Die letzten paar Tage waren, na wie soll mans ausdrücken? Beunruhigend? habt Ihr auch manchmal so Tage, and dennen einfach nichts zu funktionieren scheint? Ich bin dann immer schwer in Versuchung wieder ins Bett zu gehen und mich ins Land des Schlummerns zurück zu ziehen!
We had/have a big power problem in our house right now. On Wednesday afternoon I hear this little explosion sound, you know like when a baloon burst, that kind of thing. But I could not find what it was. I forgot about it and got on with whatever I was doing. A little later I noticed that my desk light did not work anymore, and then the lamp in the bathroom, and then I got suspicious and controlled everthing: the power was gone! Not everywhere, but in most rooms, and worst of all in the kitchen ( having 3 teenagers in the house and now possiblity to cook? No good!) So my improvisations skills where asked again!
Yesterday we had two electricians coming (we where lucky they came so fast!) and they had to controll everything! What happend was that a wire in the fuse box melted and coused a short circult, and then our oven had a short circuit, too. Or maybe it was the other way round, who knows! Anyway: we still have no way to cook right now and that was my chance to try out some of the raw recipes, I have collected in the last couple of month! Tonight Mr. H. will bring a hot plate from the office and tomorrow we have someone checking our oven. Great setting for the first day of the summer holidays!
Wir haben/ hatten grade ein Stromproblem im Haus. Mittwoch Nachmittags hab ich ein kleines Explosionsgeräusch gehört, so wie wenn ein Luftballon platzt etwa, konnte aber nicht herausfinden, wo es eigentlich her gekommen ist. Ich habs nicht weiter verfolgt und hab einfach weiter gemacht mit was auch immer ich grade gemacht hatte. Dann hab ich gemerkt das meine Schreibtischlampe nicht funktionierte, und das Licht im Bad und dann hab ich gemerkt das ist was größeres und habe alles überprüft: kein Strom mehr! komischerweise nicht überall aber in fast allen Räumen, und was am schlimmsten war: in der Küche! Mit 3 Teenagern in Haus und keiner Möglichkeit zu kochen: ganz schlecht! Also waren meine Improvisationstalente mal wieder ganz hoch im Kurs!
Gestern kamen dann 2 Elektriker, und wir hatten Glück, das sie so schnell hier waren, und sie mussten ALLES kontriollieren. Was war passiert? Ein Kabel im Sicherungskasten ist abgebrannt und geschmolzen und hat einen Kurzschluß verursacht und dann gabs ne Überspannung und der Herd hat einen Kurzschluß gehabt. Vieleicht wars aber auch genau anders rum, das kann man nicht genau feststellen. Wie auch immer wir haben jetzt wieder Strom, aber der Herd ist noch immer kaputt. Das ist natürlich eine super Gelegenheit all die Rezepte aus der Rohkostküche aus zu probieren, die ich in den letzten Monaten gesammelt habe! Heute abend wird herr H. eine Kochplatte aus dem Büro mitbringen und morgen kommt jemand der sich unseren Ofen anschaut. Was für ein Anfang für die Sommerferien!

I know, I missed a couple of days, but sometimes there are more important things you need to do. Especially when the wheel of life starts turning again. Anyway, here is what I did for day #25: a zendala. I am not hundered percent sure this is finished, but I call it good for today.
I weiss, ich hab ein paar Tage ausgelassen, aber manchmal gibt es wichtigere Dinge zu tun. Besonders wenn sich das Rad des Lebens anfängt zu drehen. Wie auch immer, hier ist meine Arbeit zum Tag #25: ein Zendala. Ich bin mir nicht absolut sicher, ob das schon der letzte Stand ist, aber für heute lass ichs gut sein.

... for my day #20 I decided to carve a new frame stamp. It´s big enough to be used as a frame on my mail or as a frame for my art journaling. And the inside is handy for my stationary, too...;-))
... für Tag #20 hab ich mir überlegt einen neuen Rahmenstempel zu schnitzen. Er ist groß genug um für meine Post verwendet zu werden oder auch für mein art journaling. Und das Innenteil findet auch Verwendung bei meinen Briefen....;-))

yesterday I finished my art journal page I have started on Monday. I tried out a couple of new things ( like dimentional paint)....;-)) And I am happy about how it turned out!!! Not sure what i will do today?
Oh, and by the way: I am still busy working on my new website. Nothing finished and nothing final, but I am already trying out how everything comes together. Like to have a speak? Go here!
Gesterm habe ich den zweiten Teil meiner Art Journal Seite fertig gemacht. Ich hab ein paar neue Dinge ausprobiert, wie zum Beispiel dimensional paint....;-)) Und ich bin ganz zufrieden wie es geworden ist!!! ich weiß noch nicht, was ich heute machen werde? ...I know, I missed a couple of days! Not that I have not done anything art wise, but it was not just for the sake of it, and it is definitly different, if you do something just for love or because you have to serve some purpose. Anyway, now I am back on track and here is the start of an art journal spread, I made last night. I must have been in a very orangy-red mood....;-))
Ich weiß, ich hab ein paar Tage ausgelassen! Es ist nicht so, das ich nichts getan hätte, aber natürlich nicht einfach so, und es ist definitiv ein Unterschieb, ob man was nur so aus Liebe zum Machen tut, oder obs einem bestimmten Zweck dienen soll. Wie auch immer, jetzt bin ich wieder dabei und ich hab gestern eine neue Seite in meinem Art Journal angefangen. Ich war wohl in einer sehr orange-roten Stimmung....;-))

Friday was a really exiting day for me: going to a TV studio and doing a live Polymer Clay demo is not on my list every day! But everything went very well and the people at the SWR Studios where just wunderful! Of course I was nervous as hell and it showed in the begining, but fortunatelly I relaxed quite quickly and the rest of the take went very smooth. I got lots of coments on my apperance, which made me more than happy and I can´t thank you all enought for them!!! You all made my hear jump, to say the least!!!
Freitag war ein wirklich aufregender Tag für mich: ins Fernsehstudio zu gehen und eine live Polymer Clay Vorführung zu machen steht schließlich nicht jeden Tag auf meiner Liste! Aber alles hat super geklappt und die Leute vom SWR waren einfach nur super!!! Natürlich war ich unglaublich nervös und man konnte es am Anfang auch sehen, aber glücklicherweise hab ich mich doch sehr schnell beruhigt und die restliche Aufnahme ging wie geschmiert. Ich habe ziemlich viele Kommentare zu meinem Auftritt bekommen, was mich natürlich riesig gefreut hat und ich kann mich gar nicht genug bei Euch dafür bedanken! Ihr habt mein Herz zum Hüpfen gebracht um es mal vorsichtig aus zu drücken!!!

After the show I drove home and finally reallized how the tension disappeared. I had not noticed it before, only after, and I kind of collapsed. There have been so many things going on lately and this was the last thing on my long list. It was just a bit more than enough. I had to take a break and so I did! The weekend was filled with a lot of doing nothing and I enjoyed it so much! But today is Monday, a new week and new things waiting for me, but it is so much better to face everything after a relaxing weekend!
Nach der Sendung bin ich nach Hause gefahren und hab schleißlich gemerkt, wie die Spannung endlich nachgelassen hat. Ich hatte es vorher gar nicht so richtig gemerkt, erst als es schon vorbei war und dann hatte ich einen Art kleinen Kollaps. In letzter Zeit war einfach so unglaublich viel los und dieser Auftritt war der letzte Punkt auf einer langen Liste. Es war einfach ein bisschen mehr als zu viel. Ich mußte unbedingt eine Pause einlegen, und das hab ich dann auch getan! Das Wochenende wurde von viel Nichts-Tun geprägt und das war gut so! Heute ist wieder Montag und eine neue Woche begint, aber es ist so viel besser der Woche nach einem erholsamen Wochenende entgegen zu schauen!

I have been drawing more zentangels for my "30 days" again. They require just the right amount of time for me and are so much fun!
You see, I have not been telling you what I am up to: something fabulous and great! I will do a little clay demo in TV!!!! How cool is that? I will be at the local TV station SWR in Baden Baden on Friday and you can watch me in the live show "Kaffee oder Tee" between 4 pm and 5 pm this week. I can not tell you how exited I am and I am really looking forward to it!
Ich habe noch mal zentangels für mein "30 days" Projekt gezeichnet. Dafür brauche ich genau die Zeit, die ich grade gut unterbringen kann, und sie machen einfach total Spaß!
Ich muß Euch nämlich was sagen, was ich bisher noch nicht erzählt habe: ich hab was geniales und großartiges vor!!! Ich werde eine kleine Polymer Clay Demonstation in Fernsehen haben!!! Ist das nicht cool??? Ich werde diese Woche am Freitag im Studio des SWRs in BadenBaden sein, und Ihr könnt mich irgendwann zwischen 16 und 17 Uhr live in der Sendung "Kaffee oder Tee" sehen. Ich kann Euch gar nicht erzählen wie aufgeregt ich bin und ich freue mich schon wahnsinnig darauf!

more zentangles, its so much fun!!!! This time I had some Mooka Fun...;-)) In case you don´t know: with zentangels a lot of the patterns have names and the one I tried here is called Mooka ( the inspiration was the Austrian Painter Alfons Maria Mucha):
Noch mehr Zentangles, es macht so viel Spaß!!! Diesmal hab ich Spaß mit Mooka gehabt...;-)) Falls Euch das nichts sagt: beim zentangels haben viele Muster Namen, und dieses heißt einfach Mooka ( und der Österreichische Maler Alfons Maria Mucha war die Inspiration dafür):

...today I just will post a very short Friday Finds post, since I am in the middle of preparing the Kavangarde Kulturmarkt for tomorrow. And on Suday I am heading further south to my in-laws, where I will stay for a couple of days. So without further ado:
....heute gibts nur einen kurzen Post für die Friday Finds, da ich immer noch mitten in den Vorbereitungen für den Kavangarde Kulturmarkt morgen stecke. Und am Sonntag werde ich mich auf den Weg in den Süden machen um meine Schwiegereltern zu besuchen. Ich werde ein paar Tag dort bleiben. Also ohne weiteres Herumgerede:
30 Days of Get Your Art On:
Traci is doing another 30 days challenge and this time it is for me! The other ones where really tempting, too, but the time was not right for me! This time it is, kind of! So I will join in! My rules are pretty much the same as Traci´s with just one addition: making photos is definitly on my list of making art too, its time to get to know my new baby a bit better, right? Ahh and here are Tracie´s rules (well and mine also):
Here are my rules:

I’ll make art every day for 30 days and post what I have done.
I don’t have to finish what ever I’m working on that day, I just have to work on something.
I have to work for 30 minutes, but can work longer if time permits.
It doesn’t matter what I do for the art making, as long as I work on art.
I won’t feel guilty for taking the time to work on art and I won’t have to justify why I’m doing it.
I don’t have to go into detail in my post about how I did anything or what tools, materials I used (unless I want to).
and this one is mine: I can post later, if I am on the road!

Traci macht eine neue 30 Tages Challenge auf ihrem Blog und diesmal mach ich mit! Die anderen haben mich auch schon sehr gereizt, aber ich hatte nicht die Zeit dazu mit zu machen. Diesmal schon, naja zumindest besser als vorher. Ich werde Tracis Regeln übernehmen, bis auf eine zusätzliche Ergänzung: Fotografieren ist ausdrücklich erlaubt, den es wird Zeit, das ich mein neues Baby ein bisschen besser kennnen lerne, nicht war? Ahh und hier sind die Regeln von Traci (bzw. meine):

Ich werde jeden Tag für 30 Tage "Art" machen und posten was ich gemacht habe.
Ich muß nicht unbedingt etwas beenden an diesem Tag, aber daran Arbeiten schon.
Ich werde mindestens 30 min arbeiten, wenn ich Zeit habe kanns auch ruhig länger sein.
Es ist egal was genau ich mache so lang es irgend eine Form von "Art" ist.
Ich werde mich nicht schuldig fühlen, dafür das ich mir diese Zeit nehme und ich werde mich nicht dafür recht fertigen.
Ich muß in meinen Posts nichts darüber sagen, was genau ich gemacht habe, oder wie (es sei den, ich möchte das).
und noch ein Extra: wenn ich unterwegs bin, kann ich auch später posten!

.... markets that is. The "T-Shirt Kunst und Kinkerlitzchen" #7 market was a huge success in my books! We all had a blast, the location was nice and I meet lots of new terrific people! The visitors seamed to enjoy watching me working on my stamps and some found a new home, too! The event had a wonderful vibe and my fellow sellers and first of all the organizers did a wonderful job!!!
Einer ist fertig, und der nächste schon um die Ecke...
Markt natürlich! Der "T-Shirt Kunst und Kinkerlitzchen" #7 Markt war einfach nur Klasse und für mich auf jeden Fall ein voller Erfolg! Wir hatten alle einen riesen Spaß, das Cafe NUN ist super und ich habe jede Menge toller neuer Leute getroffen! Die Besucher schienen ihren Spaß daran zu haben, mir beim Stempelschnitzen zu zu sehen, und einige meiner kleinen Lieblinge haben ein neues zu Hause gefunden! Auf dem Event war eine tolle Stimmung und meine Mitverkäufer und vor allem auch die Organisatoren haben einfach einen super Job gemacht!

Sunday I needed some rest, but I cant rest to long! The next market is just a round the corner! Next Saturday I will be at the "Kulturmarkt" of the Kavangarde Festival. The festival is on three days, but the market is only on Saturday. If you are anywhere near, I would love to see you at the market! This time I will take my stamps again, but also my jewellry and other things from the studio, that would like to find a new home...;-))
Sonntag hab ich dann echt ne Pause gebraucht, aber lang kann ich gar nicht pausieren! Denn der nächste Markt steht schon vor der Tür: am Samstag auf dem "Kulturmarkt" auf dem Kavangarde Festival. Das Festival geht drei Tage lang, aber das Markt findet nur am Samstag nachmittags statt. Wenn Ihr irgendwo in der Nähe seit, würde ich mich freuen, wenn Ihr vorbei kommt! Diesmal werde ich wieder meine Stempel mitnehmen, aber auch meinen Schmuck und andere Dinge, aus meinem Studio, die gerne ein neues Heim finden würden....;-))

I know, I know, I have been a bad blogger lately AGAIN! But, as I promised myself not to beat me up anymore, all I can say: thats just the way it is, when things get hectic in the studio or in my life! I am busy preparing the "T-Shirt, Kust und Kinkerlitzchen" Market, that will take place on Saturday. I am really looking forward to it and I will have lots of lovely new stamps with me, so it will be worth droping in ...;-))
I weiß, ich weiß, ich war wirklich nicht besonders gut im bloggen in letzter Zeit, schon WIEDER! Aber da ich mir geschworen habe, mich nicht mehr selber fertig zu machen, kann ich nur sagen: so ist das halt, wenn es im meinem Studio oder in meinem Leben hektisch wird! Ich bin gerade dabei ganz fleißig den "T-Shirt, Kunst und Kinkerlitzchen" Markt vor zu bereiten. Am Samstag gehts los und ich freu mich schon sehr darauf! Ich werde eine ganze Menge neuer schöner Stempel dabei haben , also es lohnt sich vorbei zu kommen!

The first video is about how to make a beet cake (Sounds a bit odd, but I am sure it will taste delicious. Please tell me when you have tried it out, okay?). This is divine!! I have never ever seen a more pleasingly presented recipe!
Das erste Video zeigt wie man einen Rote Beete Kuchen bäckt (ich weiß hört sich merkwürdig an, aber ich glaube der schmeckt sogar extrem lecker! Wers ausprobiert hat bitte melden, ja?). Es ist einfach göttlich!! Ich hab noch niemals zuvor ein Rezept in so ansprechneder Weise präsentiert bekommen!!

Buhh, that was a lot of films today! But wait I am not finished! Maybe some of you do remember the giant bubbles we did at my daughter´s birthday? A lot of you wanted to know how we made them! Now I found a page telling you exactly how to do them in all details! So wonderful!

this is a bit of a heavy load of pictures! Not all of them, of course, but I think you will get a good idea of where I was on the weekend! To make it short and sweet: we all had a blast!! The Serbian and Croatian girls where so sweet and very welcoming to us! Very concentrated during the workshops and a lot of fun afterwards! Nena our most genourous host did everything to make us feel nothing short of wonderful!!! I cant thank her enough for what she has been doing!!!Just terrific ;-))
Ziemlich viele Bilder gibts heute! Längst nicht alle, aber ich denke ihr bekommt so schon eine Idee davon wo ich am Wochenende war...;-)) Ums kurz zu machen: wir hatten eine Superzeit! Die serischen und kroatischen Mädels waren einfach wunderbar und sehr gastfreundlich! Während der Workshops sehr konzentiret bei der Sache und hinterher unglaublich witzig! Nena unsere wundervolle Gastgeberin hat alles getan um uns jeden Wunsch von den Augen abzulesen. Ich kann ihr gar nicht genug danken, für all das was sie für uns organisiert hat!!! Einfach großartig!!! ;-))

Mir war nicht klar gewesen, wie schön Serbien ist und die Architektur in Subotica is großartig! Überall gibt es interesante Gebäude zu sehen!

...well not as in today, but on Friday I will start travelling again!!! I am teaching in Subotica, Serbia, at this Workshop and I cant wait to get there! I have been working a lot in the background, and finally I am almost done. Tomorrow will be my packing day. Here you can have a little preview to the workshop I will be teaching this time:

Naja heute noch nicht, aber am Freitag werde ich los ziehen!! Ich werde in Subotica, in Serbien, bei diesem Wokshop und ich kanns kaum abwarten hin zu kommen! Ich hab ziemlich viel im Hintergrund vorbereitet, und nun bin ich fast fertig. Morgen ist mein Packtag. Und hier eine kleine Vorschau auf den Workshop, den ich unterrichten werde:

and then there is something unbelievable going on in the studio. I am so giddy to talk about it! But until everything is set, I have to keep my mouth shut! But believe me it will be a big surprise!!!
Und dann gibts noch was unglaubliches, was hier im Hintergrund vorbereitet wird. Ich würde es am liebsten überall ausplaudern, aber ich muß meinen Mund fest verschließen. Aber glaubt mir, es wird eine riesige Überraschung werden....;-))

Since we are talking about health issues (a big thing for me right now!), one other thing to think about is sitting! We all do it, often all day long ... and it is really bad for you!

...my day seam to fly by in the blick of a moment right now!!! And it will stay that way for a while, I am sure about it. So many things to be done and organized. Oh well, I dont like life to be boring anyway! I have been on the fleamarket again last weekend and did find some great things: there was a boot with plants. Wohhh! The guys where from Italy and they had a lot of tomato plants, that I had not seen anywhere before! Just perfect for my sunny balcony! Tomatoes love it there! I got a couple tomato plants, a zuccini and a bell peper plant. Had a great time transporting them home on my bike....;-)
And I found an amazing array of texture tools. Just what I needed! Well, some of them will have to go to my kitchen permanently....
...meine Tage scheinen augenblicklich wie im Flug zu vergehen!!! Und es wird sicher noch eine ganze Weile so bleiben!! Naja, was solls, ein langweiliges Leben konnte ich sowieso noch nie leiden!
Letztes Wochennede war ich mal wieder auf dem Flohmarkt und ich habe natürlich wieder tolle Dinge gefunden: es gab eine Stand mit Pflanzen! Die Verkäufer waren aus Italien und sie hatten eine ganze Reihe von Tomatensorten, die ich sonst noch nirgends gesehen hatte! Genau das richtige für meinen sonningen Balkon, denn Tomaten lieben es da! Also hab ich einige Tomatenpflänzchen und eine Zuccini und eine Paprika mitgenommen. Und dann hattte ich echt richtig Spaß alles auf den Fahrrad nach Hause zu transportieren...;-) Und ich habe eine unglaubliche Vielfalt an Strukturwerkzeugen gefunden. Genau das was ich gerade gebraucht habe. Okay einige davon werden wohl im meine Küche umziehen müssen....

Monday evening I had a meeting with all the others that will be at the "T-Shirt, Kunst und Kinkerlitzchen" Market. I am really looking forward to this and I know we will have lots of fun there! I will show (and sell) my hand carved stamps and a few other things. Would love to see you there!

Montag Abend hatte ich ein Treffen mit allen Beteiligten des "T-Shirt, Kunst und Kinkerlitzchen" Marktes. Ich freue mich wirklich schon riesig darauf und ich weiß das es eine tolle Veranstaltung werden wird! Ich werde meine handgeschnitzten Stempel vorführen ( und verkaufen natürlich auch) und einige andere Dinge. Ich würde mich freuen Euch dort zu sehen.

Sun Tea

We had such wonderful sun shine over the weekend!!! Ahhh I just love the sun.
Ideal weather to try out a new recipe: Sun tea!!! I have been reading about it and thought this is rediculous. But I like to try out things and see for myself. And I was complettly surprissed! It is worth doing it!!! And now the unbelivable complicated recipe *blink*: get a jar of glas, fill it 3/4 with cold filterd water, add herbal tea in bags ( I used two, but is you have a big jar, use more!) and place it in direct sun light. Move the jar back into the sun, when the light travels! Wait for at least 2 or 3 hours or longer, take out the bags and enjoy your sun tea! All the goodies in the tea are still in, since this very gentle process does no harm to them! I love it!

Wir hatten so ein großartigen Sonnenschein am Wochenende!!! Ahh ich liebe die Sonne!!
Das ideale Wetter um ein neues Rezept aus zu probieren: Sonnen-Tee!!! Ich hatte darüber gelesen und dachte das ist ein Witz. Aber ich liebe es ja Dinge aus zu probieren und mir dann selbst ein Urteil zu bilden. Und da war ich doch echt überrascht! Das ist es echt wert ausprobiert zu werden! Und nun zu dem unglaublich komplizierten Rezept *zwinker*: man nehme ein Glasgefäß, fülle es zu 3/4 mit kaltem, gefilterten Wasser, fügt Kräutertee im Beutel hinzu (ich hab 2 genonnen, wenn das Glas groß ist, könnens aber auch mehr sein!) und stelle das ganze in direktes Sonnenlicht. Wenn die Sonne weiter wandert, immer wieder ins direkte Licht schieben! Nach 2 , 3 oder mehr Stunden die Teebeutel raus nehmen und den Sonnen-Tee geniesen!! Alle guten Inhaltstoffe des Tees bleiben durch diese sanfte Methode erhalten und werden nicht durch kochendes Wasser zerstört. Ich liebe diesen Tee!

the kids are still off school but slowly its time to get back to normal. Today I have a couple of pictures from our Easter weekend for you:
Ostern ist vorbei, aber die Kinder sind noch in den Ferien, aber langsam wird es Zeit wieder an einen normalen Rythmus zu denken. Heute habe ich noch einige Impressionen unseres Osterwochenendes für Euch:

We did a very nice trip with our bikes on Easter. The weather was lovely and the woods were full of wild garlic....like in a fairy tale!
Wir habe eine sehr schöne Radtour über Ostern gemacht. Das Wetter war grandios und der Wald war von mit Bärlauch....wie im Märchen!

Yesterday I finished a pair of earrings, that has been on my mind for a long time! I had finished the polymer clay discs a while back and they were sitting in a tin and waiting for me. When I looked trough my stach of beads, I found exactly the right ones to go with these discs and the design was created in an instant. Now idea why I did not finish them much sooner! They are in one of my favourite styles: look like they have come from an acheologigal excarvation...;-))
Gestern hab ich ein paar Ohrringe fertig gestellt, die ich schon ewig angefangen hatte! Die Polymer Clay Scheiben waren schon lange fertig und warteten geduldig auf mich in einer kleinen Dose. Als ich dann meine Perlenvorräte begutachtet habe, habe ich genau die richtigen Perlen gefunden, die zu meinen Scheiben passen. Und im Nu waren die Ohrringe fertig. Keine Ahnung warum ich das nicht schon viel früher gemacht habe! Jedenfall sind sie in einem meiner Liebsten Stilrichtungen: sie sehen aus als würden sie direkt von einer archäologischen Ausgrabung stammen...;-))

Today I started/ finished something new for the Shop: hand made buttons!! These little cuties were also waiting for me in a little jar and finally they got displayed in a fitting tag!!! I just love all kinds of buttons and they are good for so many things: sewing ( of course!), but also for paper craft, making nice presents and many more things! What do you like to use buttons for?
Heute habe ich dann noch was anderes angefangen/ beendet: hangefertigte Knöpfe!!! Ich liebe diese kleinen süßen Dinger! Ach sie haben schon eine Weile auf mich braf in ihrem Gläschen gewrtet und heute durften sie endlich raus und haben einen würdigen Rahmen verpast bekommen! Ich liebe alle Knöpfe einfach und man kann so vieles damit machen: nähen ( natürlich), aber auch verschiedenen Papierarbeiten, oder zum Verziehern von Geschenken und noch vieles mehr. Wozu benutzt Ihr Eure Knöpfe so alles?

ahhhhh a fresh new week!!! And such a lot of plans! I always have that after a very relaxed weekend. I need to do this more often, I think! And a fresh new week deserves some new eye candy, right? So what have we got today? Some lovely new bangles, I made on the weekend. When I was younger, I NEVER went out of the house without wearing bangles and I thought it´s about time I could wear some again! The technique is by Marcia Plamer and I really enjoyed making them:

Ahhhh, eine frische neue Woche!!!! Und schon so viel geplant! I hab das immer nach einem sehr entspannten Wochenende. Und ich glaub das mucß ich einfach viel öfter machen! Und eine firsche neue Woche hat schon ein paar optischen Zuckerle verbient, nicht war? Also was hab ich heute für Euch? Also ein paar neue Armreifen, die ich am Wochenende gemacht habe. Früher bin ich NIE ohne Armreifen aus dem Haus und ich dachte es ist an der Zeit mal wieder welche zu tragen! Die Technik ist von Marcia Palmer und mir hat´s wirklich viel Spaß gemacht, sie anzu fertigen:

... ja und an meinem Art Journal habe ich auch weiter gearbeitet. Ich habe so viel Vergnügen daran! Ich kann mich wirklich nicht mehr daran erinnern, warum ich jemals damit aufgehört hatte! Aber die Hauptsache ist ja, das ich es wieder aufgenommen habe, nicht war?

The clouds are a constant spectacle in front of our living room window, and I do enjoy watching all the different shapes and colors. On the weekend we had the very rare jellyfish clouds!!! Yeahh!
Die Wolken bieten und ein andauerndes Spektakel direkt vor unseren Wohnzimmer-Fenster, und ich liebe es die verschiedenen Formen und Fraben zu beobachten. Am Wochenende hatten wir die wirklich seltenen Quallen-Wolken!!! Yeahhh!!!

....yesterday we had our first strawberries of this year. They could have had a bit more sun, but still very yummy!!! Maybe we make a strawberry cake for my sons birthday? Only a couple of more days till he turns 17!!! OMG!!!
Gestern hatten wir die ersten Erdbeeren in diesem Jahr. Könnten noch ein bisschen mehr Sonne gebrauchen aber schon ziemlich lecker. Vielleicht können wir ja diesmal eine Erbeer Kuchen zum Geburtstag meines Sohnes machen? Nur noch ein paar Tage bis er 17 wird!!! 17? Unglaublich!!

I have finally hunted it down! And here is the story:
I once had a lovely old sewing maschine. It was my Mum´s old one and she bought herself a new one, with tones of computer programs and everything a proper seamstess needs. I took care of her lovely old sewing maschine. It was just what I needed: simple but sturdy! I sew many cloth and other project with it and was happy.
But one day I thought it´s time to move on and get yourself a maschine, that can do a bit more than staight and zigzag stiches. I bought a new one. Not one like my Mum bought, my checkbook did not want that, it was a maschine much cheaper, but with a couple of fancy stitches. And since I had a new one, I gave my old love away in good hands. But my new love was not very trustworthy and started to squeek very soon. It made lots of unnecessery noice whenever I worked with it and I soon got anoid with her. And was wishing my old love would be back! So I stared to look for a new old sewing maschine. Unfortunately I was not the only one to hunt for a trustworthy old maschine and so it took me month to find my new love: she looks exactly like my first love, but she is a slightly newer version, with contour stitch!!! I bought her and let her send to me, but oh!!! the person who send her, was not very carefull and when she was handed to me, her heart was broken! I needed to fix her in a couple of ways and she still is not completly tame, but I am positiv she will be pretty soon!!! And I will never let her go again!

...machts Euch bequem, jetzt kommt eine lange Geschichte! darf ich vorstellen: meine neue, alte Nähmaschine!!! Ich hab sie endlich gefangen und hier kommt die Geschichte dazu:
Ich hatte einmal eine alte, aber sehr verlässliche Nähmaschine. Es war die alte Maschine meiner Mutter, denn sie hatte sich eine neue zugelegt, mit vielen Computerprogrammen und allem möglichen darn was eine Scheiderin eben so braucht. Ich habe mich dann um ihre alte Maschine gekümmert. Sie war genau so wie ich das brauchte: einfach, stabil und zuverlässig! Ich habe viele Kleidungstücke und andere Projekte damit genäht und war glücklich mit den guten Stück.
Aber eines Tages, dachte ich es wäre Zeit sich weiter zu entwickeln und sich eine Maschine zu besorgen, die ein bischen mehr kann als gerade aus nähen und Zickzack-Stich. Also kaufte ich mir eine neue. Kein so tolle wie meine Mutter ein hatte, nein dafür reichte meine finaziellen Mittel wirklich nicht, es war eine sehr viel billigere Maschine. Aber mit einigen Zierstichen. Und nachdem ich jetzt ja eine neue hatte, habe ich meine alte Maschine weitergegeben. Aber meine neue Liebe war nicht sehr zuverlässig und begang bald zu quietschen. Sie machte überhaupt unheilich viel Krach beim Nähen und ich wurde bald ziemlich ungehalten mit ihr. Und ich wünschte mir meine alte Liebe wieder zurück! leider war ich nicht die einzige, die sich so eine alte Liebe zurück wünschte und ich mußte mehrere Monate jagen, bis mir das Glück hold war undich eine fand, die genau so wie meine alte Liebe ausah, aber sie ist sogar noch ein bisschen neuer und hat Stichschablonen! ich habe sie gekauft und zugeschickt bekommen, aber ach, die Person, die sie mir schickte war gar nicht sorgsam gewesen und ihr Herz war gebrochen als sie hier ankam! ich mußte sie erstmal an mehreren Stellen, wieder heilen und sie ist noch nicht komplett gezähmt! Aber ich denke das wird bald werden! Und diese hier werde ich sicher nicht mehr weggeben!!!

already!!! Wohh time seems to fly again! I had so much on my plate the last couple of days and there is allways more to do. I have been working A LOT on my etsy shop and treasuries, my art journal and got some interesting offers. Day to day business, too, of course...how are your days?
Es ist Mittwoch...schon wieder? Wohh, die Zeit rast nur so dahin! ich hatte soviel zu tun in den letzten Tagen und es gibt immer noch genug, was gerne fertig gemacht werden würde! ich habe VIEL an meinen Etsy Shop und Treasuries, an meinen Art Journal und den täglichen Kram gearbeitet, na klar...wie verlaufen Eure Tage???

..hope your weekend was good!!! Mine was really busy....;-)) Did part of my Spring cleaning and on Sunday I had a small group of students in the studio for a polymer clay workshop!!! So much fun and they were really great!! It was a beginners class and we covered such a lot of stuff... I was really proud of them...;-))

Ich hoffe Ihr hattet alle ein schönes Wochenende!!! Meins was sehr arbeitssam...;-)) Am Samstag hab ich einen großen Teil meines Frühjahrsputzes erledigt und am Sonntag hatte ich eine kleine Gruppe im Studio zu einen Polymer Clay Workshop. Wir hatten so viel Spaß und die Teilnehmerinnen waren echt großartig!! Es war eine Anfängerklasse und wir haben wirklich ziemlich viel Themen besprochen. Ich war wirklich sehr stolz auf meine Schülerinnen...;-))

After all that I needed some serious relaxing time...and did NOTHING for the rest of the weekend!
Aber danach mußte ich mich erstmal etwas entspannen und hab den Rest des Wochenendes GAR NIX gemacht!

I am so happy March is over!!! It has been a hard month over here. Apart from all the bad news world wide, our little family was also hit with many bad things happening: death, serious illness, financial hardship and a setback with my own health. I don´t want to bore you with all the details, but I am hopping for better things to come in April. And I need to get some things off my shoulders! Not a good idea to start something new under these circumstances, but hey .... its April´s Fools Day, so I decided to do something crazy, like enrolling in this class:

Ich bin so froh, das der März endlich vorbei ist!!! Es war ein furchtbarer Monat für uns. Zusätzlich zu alll den schrecklichen Nachrichten aus aller Welt wurde auch unseren Familie ganz schön gebeutelt und es war ganz schön hart: Tod, schwere Karnkheiten, finanzielle Katastrophen und eine ziemlicher Rückschritt bei meiner eigenen Gesundheit. Ich möchte Euch nicht mit all den langweiligen Details anöden, aber ich hoffe wirklich, dass der April besser wird. Und ich muß endlich einiges von meinen Schulter abwerfen! Eigentlich ist das gar keine gute Idee unter solchen Umständen auch noch ein neues Projekt an zu fangen, aber was solls ... ist heute nicht der 1. April? Da kann man schon mal was verrücktes machen und sich zum Beispiel bei einem neuene Kurs eintragen:

I can not think about anything else but Fukushima right now.....its a nightmare come true!!!
Yesterday was the first time I have been to a protest march in a long long time. But it will not be the last time. We need to show what we think and let the people in charge know, that we will not tolerate any longer them messing around with nuklear power!
Ich kann an gar nichts anderes als an Fukushima denken! Es ist ein Alptraum, der Wirklichkeit geworden ist!!! Gestern war ich das erste mal seit ewigen Zeiten wieder bei einer Kundgebung. Aber es wird nicht das letzte Mal gewesen sein. Wir müßen denjenigen, die an den Hebel sitzen zeigen, das wir es nicht mehr länger ertragen werden, wie sie mit der Atomkraft herumspielen!

I am back from Austria. and I just had a plast!!! The Spektakel was wonderful!!! In the last 4 years, neary on the day, my blog had 22.000 visitors!!!! 22.000!!! Wohhh, that is an unbelivable amount of people! When I started this little online diary of mine, I never thought in my wildest dreams it would be intressting for such a lot of people! I can only thank you all for coming around and reading what I have to say. My next goal is to get a bit more feed back from you, my dear reader, because I would like to know who you are and what makes you come here. I also would like to have more interaction as well. I asure you I ready each and every comment you post here and I try to get back ASAP to everyone, too. Each single comment makes my heart jump with delight!
In den letzten 4 Jahren, fast auf den Tag genau, hat mein blogg 22.000 Besucher gehabt!!! 22.000!!! Wohhh, das ist echt eine ganz Menge von Leuten. Als ich mit meinem kleinen online Tagebuch anfing, hab ich nicht in meinen kühnsten Träumen daran gedacht, dass es für so viele Leute von Interesse sein könnte! Ich kann Euch nur allen ganz herzlich danken, das ihr hierher kommt und lesst was ich zu sagen, ähh schreiben habe. Mein nächstes Ziel ist es doch ein bisschen mehr Rückmeldungen von Euch, meinen geschätzten Lesern zu bekommen, denn ich würde schon ganz gerne wissen, wer ihr seit und warum ihr hier her kommt. Ich hätte auch sehr gerne etwas mehr Interaktion . Ich kann Euch nur versichern, ich lese jeden wirklich einzelnen Kommentar, der von Euch geposted wird und ich versuche auch so schnell wie möglich jeden zu Antworten. jeder einzelne Kommentar bringt mein Herz zum Hüpfen (vor Freude, natürlich)!

Oh and BTW: the comments on my sneak peak where quite close, but still not complety on the spot. I will give you another hint: in one week I will wear it...;-)
Oh und noch was: die Kommentare zu meinem Rätsel waren schon ganz schön nahe dran, aber doch noch nicht ganz richtig. Ich geben Euch einen weiteren Tip: in einer Woche werde ich es tragen...;-)

I have been really bussy. I even got some things done on the weekend! That is not normally the case! But this weekend my DD was at another birthday party and my man had to work in the office. So what is a girl to do? Right craft along...;-)) So I finished my new stamp collection and listed it in the Shop, I finished my lace scarf, feels so good to have one more big project done, AND I can wear it on my birthday...;-)

Ich war echt schwer beschäftigt in den letzten Tagen. Ich hab sogar am Wochenende einiges geschafft. Das ist wirklich die Ausnahme! Diese Wochenende war meine Tochter zu einer weiteren Geburtstagsparty eingeladen und mein Mann mußte ins Büro. Was soll man da schon machen, ausser einige Dinge fertig zu machen...*grins* Also habe ich meine neue Stempel Collection fertig geschnitzt und im Shop gelistet, meinen Spitzenschal fertig gehäckelt ...und es fühlt sich echt gut an, noch ein weiteres großen Projekt beendet zu haben, UND ich kann ihn sogar an meinem Geburtstag ausführen...;-))

Es ist noch nicht komplett fertig, aber die Näharbeiten sind erledigt. ..today there are a couple of new stamps on my desk.I really love to carve away. I find it very relaxing, is nearly a kind of a meditation for me. I have to concentrate and there is no room for other thoughts in my mind. And I like to see the progress and the changes after each cut. Do you have somehing that is very relaxing for you, kind of like a crafty meditation? I would like to hear about it...;-)

...auf meinem Tisch sind heute einige neue Stempel. I liebe es Stempel zu schnitzen. I finde es äusserst entspannend, nahe zu Meditativ. Ich muß mich ziemlich konzentrieren und in meinem Kopf ist kein Platz für andere Gedanken. Es macht mir auch sehr viel Spaß die Entwicklung zu beobachten und die Veränderungen nach den einzelene Schnitten. Habt ihr auch etwas was Euch sehr entspannt, sowas wie eine handwerkliche Meditation? Ich würde gerne was darüber hören, was entspannt Euch...;-)
